Guess I've not been to this area for a long time already. This place used to be IVINS Nonya specialties (hmm, Irvin's is such a close name to the previous place). My family came by here wanting to eat nonya food actually, but was surprised to find it no longer there. Anyway, since we arrived late at 1.30 pm, we did not want to go elsewhere and just decided to try whatever is offered here. My family came by here wanting to eat nonya food actually, but was surprised to find it no longer there. Anyway, since we arrived late at 1.30 pm, we did not want to go elsewhere and just decided to try whatever is offered here. The staff recommended us the buffet lunch spread - we had a look at the dishes, they seemed like quite a good spread, so we went ahead with the buffet. We were apprehensive if they will top up the dishes as we were already late and the buffet is supposedly till 2.30 pm. Anyway, we were reassured that they will....which they did for most dishes which were almost out. Unfortunately, they ran out of chocolate ice cream, which was a letdown especially for my niece.

Guess the food was generally ok for a buffet priced at $13.90+ per pax (no gst).

Crab meat seafood soup - There were bits of fresh crab within, quite fresh. Not too bad.

Chicken feet - Well-braised and quite nice.

Tofu skin prawn - Fresh prawns fried to a nice crisp. Seems the seafood offered were all fresh and reasonably good.

Steamed pork ribs, pork knuckles with vinegar - Tasted alright.

Steamed stuffed dim sum - Yucky like most offered at buffets. The fried dim sums were still ok.

Century egg pork porridge - Tasted ok for the first round, but was very salty for the second round (which they cooked up for us)

The salted egg sauce dip to go with their fried man tou was simply delicious! You can easily go over your calorie count for the day if you are not careful....

The stewed duck with bun (like kong bak bao but replacing the pork belly with duck) was good too.

- Stewed duck bun

If you are not too particular about your food, this place is ok for a reasonably priced buffet. At least there's the salted egg sauce to go with the man tou!
