Water Chestnut (Cold) ($3.30)
The hot version was sold out, so no choice ordered the cold one. The water chestnut was chopped into small pieces.
Almond Paste ($3.30)
It was smooth and was not too sweet. Some believed that having this dessert will cure cough, although I did not know how true is it.

Chee Cheong Fun ($2.80/ 2 pieces)
It was served with sweet sauce and chilli sauce. I wish there was more chilli sauce which tasted quite good as there was minced dried shrimp in it and it was not too spicy. The plain chee cheong fun was quite smooth and silky.

Yam Cake ($2.80)
It was also served with sweet and chilli sauce. The yam bites was not distinct in taste and texture. I wish there was minced dried shrimp in it.

There was discount for passion card holder, so total bill was $14.70. The place was packed and the only table left was the one nearest to the counter. Quite a bad choice for a table, especially when the staffs kept going in and out to serve food. Food was served quite fast.

Mouth-watering appearance did surprise me, they were attractive. Mango for me and Chocolate for him, we shared it actually. If you asked me, I prefer putting in the bowl rather than paper cup when having dessert on the spot. Anyway, my Mango was nourish and sweet especially the topping syrup. Chocolate flavour wise, it tasted not so nice. Overall, the appealing thin layer of ice was chilled yet the price was quite high, $4.50 each cup. Sorry to say, we unlikely will go back again.

The mango flavour ice was soft and it melted immediately after it was put inside my mouth. It was very different from those ice in Ice Kachang which is slightly harder and more crunchy. There were many small cubes of mango on top of the mango snow ice to further enhance the flavour although they were slightly sour.

However, the place is quite small and the number of seats are very limited. Hence, it's not suitable for people to stay at that place for long.

Mango Snow Ice ($4.20)The shaved ice is much finer than the usual found in dessert stalls. The mango chunks on top is juicy and sweet. It is a very refreshing and delicious dessert.Black Sesame Paste ($2.80)The paste is very smooth as it glides easily down my throat and tastes strongly of black sesame. But still not the best I have. I still miss the one which the person hand grounded the black sesame and I could smell it from far.

Dont be cheated by the picture of this dessert! It looks absolutely nice in their menu but it's actually not! The syrup is too artificially sweet and the ice shaved is too coarse and the mango is ripen too much which i dont quite like the taste. The main thing is the ice shaved that is so coarse and i need to chew on every single bite before swallowing it. The syrup is another thing, it is so artificial that i prefer sour one that this.

my girlfriend and I walked passed a dessert story and we decided to grab a bowl of dessert back. I bought their guilin gao also known as herbal jelly. Their herbal jelly was very smooth, it is best eaten after chilled. They packed the honey separately so you can choose to add it or not. In my opinion it is best to add some cos the herbal jelly is slightly on the bitter side and I cannot really take bitter too well so I emptied every drop of the honey.

Mango sago with pomelo seemed to be a very popular dessert at most dessert stalls. They are priced slightly higher than some of the dessert. But whether it is worth the amount you pay really depends on the mango they used in my opinion. The mango they used at dessert story is really fresh. The flesh is sourish sweet. I don’t like my mangoes to be too sweet cos I will get very sick of the dessert after a while. The pomelo however tasted bitter. But when you eat with the mango, it taste really goo

Still not satisfied after eating the main course, proceed to dessert story to have some desserts. There are cold n hot desserts to be choosen as well as small snacks like yam cake, carrot cake, Siew Mai, Haw gao and etc. After ordered, there are seats and tables provided for customers to dine in. Although Mei Heong Yuan’s desserts are smoother and tastier, if you don’t feel like making a trip down to Chinatown, these desserts found in heartland districts definitely hit the spot. Definitely can eat, and can return to eat more some more, but I thought for such a small bowl, it was quite expensive at $3. $3 can buy you a meal leh.

Service: But an unhappy incident happened to me. I was drinking the walnut paste and it had a slight bitter aftertaste, which it shouldn’t have. So I asked the staff if the dessert had herbal ingredients (because, I learnt some cooking, and I know you can add herbal stuff). The PRC server sneered in my face like I was super ignorant and stupid, like it’s the funniest joke she heard in her life. Seriously, I wanted to give her two slaps. No happy ending for this Dessert Story. But I’ve to add, there are some aunties who are very nice to me here.
