Joo Chiat is one of favourite hangout spots in Singapore. Katong Laska, Creme Burlee, Durain Cream Puffs, Pratas, Escargots and even tiramisu! You name it and most likely you will find them in Joo Chiat!

Since it's called Everything with Fries, apart from desserts, everything comes literally with fries! You can choose shoestrings over straight cuts fries as well as the types of seasoning. Look at the photo above for choices. But don't expect too much from their fries. It's definitely better than you MacDonald's rendition but that's all. Nothing really special. In fact, it seems that their standard of fries has dropped since my last visit a few months ago.

The One Egg Soup ($4.90). In Everything With Fries opinion, a must try. A chicken cream soup that has a tinge of sour cream to it accompanied by a large fried egg. If you ever notice, the fried egg has no yolk? That's because the yolk has been used to thicken the soup.

In our opinion, the fried egg went well with the soup but there wasn't a WOW factor. If you're trying it for the first time, well by all means go ahead. But for me, I would rather use the money to buy their cakes! Particularly their Nutella Tarts! Awesome stuffs I tell you but I didn't get it this time...

Wild New Zealand Breaded Salmon With Original Straight Cuts ($13.90). Being a salmon fan myself, I can easily tell a well cooked salmon from a not so well cooked one. They say there's a difference between farm raised and wild salmon. Unless you're a food connoisseur, you won't really tell much of a difference.

At least I can't. From the color of the meat, I could tell that it's not fully cooked. But that's the essence of eating salmon. It's flaky but it's soft and it retains the full flavors of the fish.

Grilled Pork Chop With Curry Powder Shoestrings ($13.90). A piece of Pork Chop that is grilled to give that nutty and smoky taste is by no means an easy feat! Firstly apart from inducing the smoking taste to the meat, one has to ensure that the meat retains the moisture and tenderness while not overcooking the meat. See what I mean?

In my opinion, the miso sauce by itself is a bit sourish and salty. The purpose of the miso sauce should be to complement the flavors of the meat. A good combination and in my opinion a must try if you ever pop by.

Lamb Burger ($11.90) or I should say Lamb Burgers since four of us got the same thing
A fat and juicy piece of lamb sitting in between two homemade bread. The tomato and onion relish adds a tinge of sweetness and sourness with every bite. The meat itself was not tough as I might have expected. Again, looks can be deceiving...

When it comes to burger, some prefer lifting the whole thing happily munch on it. Some prefer dissecting the it into smaller portions. Whichever way you decide, there's no right or wrong! What matters is we are enjoying every moment with our burger!

All in all, the price seemed to increased by a lot since my last visitation of the place. The fries doesn't taste as good before. I am guessing that the landlord might have increased their rental but still, that doesn't mean the quality should be compromised right?

This is a cosy cafe that has pretty chilled-out ambiance. It serves quite standard western fare like steak and fish and the star is obviously the fries. Since that's the special, let's focus on the fries. I tried the truffle fries which is in vogue. The truffle taste was not exactly strong but the fries were excellent; very crispy and crunchy. We also ordered the garlic flavoured fries and the garlic taste was quite strong. Another tip: get the NZ Wild Salmon.

Went to EVERYTHING WITH FRIES and the shop are really everything with fries. We had ordered the fries with cheese sauce. The chip came with some bacon chips also. The fries tasted nice and cruncy at first when it was hot, but after a short period of time, the fries start to tasted oily and the fries became soft. The cheese sauce tasted normal but it was quite nice also.

This is like a whole set meal. And, you will be quite full already after eating it . This fries is not a normal fries. It is a curry fries. And, it is not too spicy at all. The curry makes the fries even more flavorful. I especially like this curry fries. You should go try this fries. The meat is also quite tender and the sauce they put on top of the meat makes the meat more flavourful.

Something new on the menu. It looked great to me thus i gave it a try. I can't really figure out what kinda soup this is but it tasted a tad sourish and salty topped with a whole lot of fried eggs. My friend didn't like it as she find that it tasted really weird. I managed to finish up the entire bowl though. What get me going is i kept wanting to figure out what ingredients are used and by then, i finished it. Not really a must try and have soup but you can still give it a try.

With each main course you get to choose what style of fries you'd like (chunky cut or skinny shoestring type) and what seasoning you'd like to add (Original, Salt & Vinegar, Sour Cream & Onion, Herbs & Garlic or Curry). Shoestring fries are hot and crunchy - not soggy, thank god. I'd give the Herbs & Garlic a miss. I *think* you get an option between a side of baby caesar salad or coleslaw - we weren't offered a choice but other reviewers have mentioned this point.Definitely a must try... before

It's interesting how eateries are named nowadays. Some allude to hidden references while others, like Everything with Fries, tells you straight up what to expect from the restaurant. Indulge in my lameness for a bit as I can't help but think that this cafe's name is in response to the "Would you like fries with that" question. HAHA.

The eatery's stark white facade cuts a contrasting impression amongst the faded walls of its neighbours along Joo Chiat Road. Wait staff in pink tops and white shorts add to the overall "uplifting" ambience of the place. There is the problem of cramp spaces though. We got a seat next to the walkway and every time someone walked past, they had to squeeze their way in. Imagine someone's butt scraping past your table when you are eating. Definitely not a pleasant prospect.

Egg Soup - Apparently a signature and the only soup available on the menu, the one egg soup was essentially chicken broth with a slightly creamy texture and a sourish hint. The accompanying portion of deep fried whisked egg tasted a little like french toast sans the bread. Rather appetising I must say, especially with the addition of ground pepper.

Grilled Pork Chop - The pork chop's seasoning was quite good but probably a wee bit too flavourful for my liking. Grilling imbued it with a nice smoky taste but unfortunately the meat came across as a little too dry. And as the name of the eatery suggests, it came with a choice from a selection of fries (original, curry, salt and vinegar, sour cream and onion, garlic and herbs) as well as a salad, to balance out all that unhealthy stuff. I'm not too sure the fries were that fantastic though, nothing like my favourite fries from New York Fries.

Cheeseburger - My initial reaction upon seeing the burger was one of mild shock. The beef patty was probably only the size of 1.5 Macdonald patties, which is really quite small. Size aside, the texture of the patty was rather uneven, which probably means that it hasn't been machine processed. But I would have liked it a little juicier. The bun is purportedly made from scratch and I must say that I enjoyed it quite a bit. Light without being too dense and mildly sweet with a coating of butter, pan fried till lightly charred on the surface - very good!

Pear Tart - The nutella tart was sold out so we had to settle for the pear tart with an additional scoop of ice cream, which tasted suspiciously like Wall's ice cream. This dessert was a poor attempt at a tart in my humble opinion. The crust was suppose to be flaky but turned out rather elastic. And its a little odd if pear slices don't taste like pear. Overall still edible but don't expect much.

Dessert and cramp spaces aside, I must say that the meal was quite enjoyable, especially with the relatively economical price tag and chirpy service. I would definitely make it a point to return, but in the meantime, they might want to take a look into their table arrangement.

Everything with Fries really has EVERYTHING with fries. Their fries are very attractive as they come in many different flavours and we can choose from 2 sizes. Every main course comes with fries. I tried the lamb burger. It was good! Very tender and grilled perfectly such that it is not overcooked. Great meal! Great fries!

This is my second review on everything with fries but this time round i tried their terriyaki chicken sandwich. It tasted fantastic, however the portion is rather big. As i've said in the previous review, everything comes with fries. You can choose two types of fries, straight cut or shoe string fries and there's four flavours.Other than the fries, the main dish also consists of salad.

If you like rich chocolate dessert, than you will like this Nutella Tart. The base has a sandy and crunchy texture made up of dark chocolate biscuits. It is filled with smooth velvety hazelnut chocolate. This has gone up by $1 to $5.90. Since this is opened by the famous Awfully Chocolate shop, you can be sure their chocolate items are of a very high standard even though prices are on the high end.
