The fish was also big for the price of S$4.50. Crispy and not oily. The coating batter was just right. Not too thick.

While most of the western food stalls in neighbourhood are selling at a minimum cost of $5.50, Tanglin Halt Western Food did the extra ordinary rate selling them at $4.50 for the plate of chicken cutlet without compromising the food quantity. Self service was observed with the queues piling up during dinner hours.

The gravy used was kind of different, brownish in color and sweet tasting topped onto the crispy chicken cutlet. The cutlet was fried to golden brown in color with substantial of meat within unlike some of the stall, their cutlet was filled of fatty meat under the batter.

3 other sides like bean beans, fries and coleslaw was included on the Cutlet dish too. They were of the ordinary and not much to write about.

Overall for economical Western Food, Tanglin Halt is still the best choice in Clementi.

Tanglin Halt Western Food Stall not only sells cheap chicken chop menus but also their Beef Steak is quite cheap. When the dish came, I was quite disappointed with the beef meat serving. The beef meat was quite small in size.Although the beef steak smelled good, the meat was however tough and chewy. They used the same sauce for the beef steak as for the Chicken Chop. Though good for French Fries and grilled chicken chop, it was quite strange to have sweet & sour sauce for beef meat.

In Clementi Food Centre there was this very cheap Western Food Stall. At this price, they dfid not compromise on taste, quality and quantity.I ordered this Grilled Chicken Chop at $4.50. I could smell the aroma of the grilled meat when the chicken chop was served on the table. The chicken meat was grilled until the outer layer was cripsy and inside tender. There was this generous special sauce on the chicken chop which tasted sweet and savoury, which goes very well with the cripsy French Fries.

This Western food stall always has quite a long queue whenever I visit here. This time, it took me around ten minutes before my turn is up and I can place my order. THe batter used on the outer layer make it really crispy on the outer layer, but yet the meat inside is really tender and moist. The side dishes which include the crispy not too oily French fries and the crunchy fresh coleslaw are equally delicious as well. At merely $4.50 per plate, really affordable!

We ordered the Chicken Cutlet. Everything is cooked so well, the chicken is tender in and crispy out. Just the right amount of batter coating. The chips is just well done, same : soft in, crispy out and fresh piping hot! doesn't have that over used oil taste. Coleslaw is great. Overall a dish of consistency. I like.

There is prompt delivery upon payment.

What is good about Tanglin Halt Western Food is that you can see every customer's plate emptied after their meal!

Service
Due to its good business, they dont offer to carry the plates to their customer's table and instead we have to queue and self service. Overall its still ok.

Ambience
Sometimes you can see the long queue stretch towards the shop houses. Dining in the hawker centre ambience are often noisy. The cleaners' were not up to speed to clear the tables promptly so sometimes its hard to find an empty table.

Price
Reasonable pricing.

Recommendations / Tips
Since it is famous for its western food, I will definitely go back and try other dish again!

Oh the horrors, we only got out of bed in time for a late lunch and by then the grilled chicken was already sold out So a fried chicken cutlet it was. And I didn't know better so I asked for the BBQ sauce. Which I of course regretted. Was it just me? Or was the sauce sweet?I expected BBQ like a smokey savoury sauce. The sweet sauce was too cloyingly sweet it ruined my chicken cutlet. I really wished i asked for the black pepper sauce. Ah well.

Have been eating here for years, nothing beats the tomato-based sauce for the chicken chop; it's sweet, slightly tart and delicious all around. Give it a try, it's a nice alternative to the pepper sauce you can get everywhere else. I always go for the larger portions at 7.50 and their servings are generous. Only down side am I always seem to end up finding them closed, there have been many times when I go down only to be disappointed. Think I don’t always get a good timing.

This stall has been there for as long as I can remember, and I always loved the sets that they serve. One of my favourites is the chicken cutlet set. It is cooked just right such that the chicken meat is still very tender to the bite and the accompanying sauce complements the texture of the meat very well. The set comes with salad and also a choice of thick cross fries or rice. I chose the fries which are still warm and crisp and is very delicious. You can also add an egg for an additional 50cen

They serve 2 types of sauces, either black pepper or onion. Actually, I don’t prefer sauce over the food or it could be better if it served at the side separately. Anyway, it is hawker centre, I shouldn’t ask for more. As usual they pour the onion sauce over the lamb chop, taste was quite bland, just hint of onion. Lamb chop was thinly sliced and well marinated but it has too much meat tenderiser on it. It broke down the original meat texture, it became too soft to my like. I would say rice won over the chop, it was fluffy and a hint of chicken rice taste.

At around 7+pm, there was a queue at their stall. It seems they quite popular too.
