I tried out the Tteokguk My Version, which is The Soup Spoon's in-house version of the traditional tteokguk. As it was a gloomy, rainy day, with relatively low temperatures, the bowl of piping hot soup was a welcome relief.

The steaming egg broth was generously filled with chunks of beef and omelette, as well as various indistinguishable vegetables. Of course, no tteokguk would be complete without the thick, chewy slices of rice cakes. The texture of the cakes reminded me of mochi - it was so satisfyingly moreish.

Irish beef with stout was thick and filling. There were generous portion of vegetables and beef cubes. The beef was marinated in stout and mushroom, and herbs were added to enhance the taste of the soup.

Lunch at The Soup Spoon always make me feel satisfying and healthy. Bought the chicken with mushroom wrap and also the simon & Garfunkel soup. For less than $15, is value for money. Soup is filled with generous amount of tomato, carrots, onion and vegetables which are very nutritional. THe soup texture is thick and creamy. As for the wrap, is totally not only and fresh chewy mushrooms and tender chicken meat can be found inside. Restaurant is quite small but cooling, service was quite help

The only problem I have with the soup is that they seems to have put too much shiitake mushroom in it. The soup was really nice until when I was about 2/3 into it and I started to feel sick of the overpowering taste of the Shiitake mushroom.

My half sandwich of Teriyaki Chicken sandwich was quite nice. The chicken itself was a little salty but worked well with the sesame bread and greens.

Overall a satisfying meal

I ordered regular velvety mushroom stroganoff soup, caesar salad and iced lemon tea. The soup came with a piece of bread.

The soup was made from fresh mushrooms, it was silky and slightly bitter. Perfectly eaten with the bread. I highly recommend it to mushroom lovers like me. The caesar salad was fresh and saladelicious, if there is such a word. Haha.

I commend the calorie count provided in the soup menu. It is beneficial for calorie conscious diners.

Whenever I'm in need of some good comfort food, The Soup Spoon is never far from my thoughts. I have been a regular customer of theirs ever since I discovered it a few years back, and love going there to chill and enjoy a bowl of soup with my friends. The soups, while chunky and more 'western', give a certain sense of warmth and comfort-especially my favorite, the Simon and Garfunkel Chicken and Mushroom ragout. It's filling with its bounty of chicken, mushroom and carrot, yet not overwhelming.

The soups, while chunky and more 'western', give a certain sense of warmth and comfort-especially my favorite, the Simon and Garfunkel Chicken and Mushroom ragout. Moreover, I wouldn't deduct points for its decor and and ambiance. While not the perfect place for a romantic date, The Soup Spoon is a great place for friends to hang out and talk the evening away. It's not too noisy, and while it can sometimes get crowded, the servers never ask you to leave- a huge thumbs up! So all in all, I would really recommend The Soup Spoon to everyone who's in need of a little comfort, or really, just everyone.

I arrived on a weekday evening to have dinner here at Soup Spoon. There are not many seats in this restaurant, so I have to wait a little while to get a table. Unfortunately, they ran out of clam chowder (my first choice), so I had to make do with a serving of their Velvety Mushroom Stroganoff- their rich mushroom soup. I enjoy this particular thick hearty mushroom soup as it was so rich in mushroom flavour and it also contained mushroom bits. I did enjoy slurping on the creamy soup while munching on pieces of shitake and button mushrooms. I also decided to indulge myself by adding a Waldorf salad and ice lemon tea to my meal. The Waldorf salad was premixed and refrigerated before being served out. It contained a mix of lettuce, green apple pieces and copious amounts of raisins and walnuts to go with it. I did enjoy this salad mix and soup meal.

Met up with my friends and decided to have dinner at The Soup Spoon.Ordered a Velvety Mushroom Soup(?) and completed it as a "meal" with Chilled Soba w/ Teriyaki Chicken and an Iced Lemon Tea. As for the Chilled Soba salad, the combination of cold soba noodles, shredded carrots, seaweed and snow peas was refreshing and helped balance out the cloying-ness of the mushroom soup.

Tokyo Chicken Stew with a bread (baked with rolled oats and seeds) for dipping. The soup was rather tangy, I don't know why. In the soup was strands of enoki mushrooms, chicken cubes, carrots, celery and maybe some potatoes. It taste a little like ABC soup with a tangy twist.

As I only had the soup, no drinks, or meals, or sandwich to go along, I paid less than $8. The service was average.

The location of the restaurant is a little hard to find, somewhat hidden in a corner of the 3rd level. Even with the help of a little signage stand by a faraway escalator, it took me to circle the 3rd level of Plaza Singapura once to find The Soup Spoon.

But I really like the concept of the restaurant that gives a really nice and cozy ambiance. As I went there during the low peak hours, I had the whole restaurant to myself.

The verdict: If you're a regular of The Soup Spoon and you're always ordering Velvety Mushroom Straganoff or Boston Clam Chowder (like myself), the next time you see a Soup Spoon Restaurant, go ahead and order Tokyo Chicken Stew instead for an appetizing change!

They were really generous with the slices of mushroom that they added into the soup so it makes the whole meal more filling. The soup is very thick. The clam chowder was really good!! The taste was very light. Even though it was a big bowl of soup, you could easily finish it. The mushroom one had a stronger taste, so it was more difficult to finish it. But if you like the taste of mushroom, I would recommend you to choose the mushroom one. If you prefer a creamy taste, then the clam chowder would be perfect!

The bread bowl is crispy so it's a perfect complement to your dish. And if you're not ordering any set, there would only be a small bun served with the soup. So, for those with a larger appetite, do try it with the bread bowl.
