Basically a well-known spot to take a break, Wang Café adopted a similar concept with local Chinese-style coffee hut. Specializing in serving Kaya Toast during breakfast or tea time, it built up its reputation gradually. They were currently promoting their Loyalty Card, get $22.00 in value with paying of $20.00, $57.50 in value with paying of $50.00 or $120.00 in value with paying of $100.00. Convenience at my finger tips, I joined and had my simple lunch. What I ordered was the Malay cuisine

What I ordered was the Malay cuisine, a sudden craving. Yellow noodles were served along with sweet yet spicy gravy, garnished with Tau Pok, Eggs and some Spring Onion on top. Squeeze of lime enlightened the taste, the bowl suddenly turned to mouth-watering mode. The price was affordable, self-service basis with pleasure atmosphere. Overall, I was satisfied.

A hearty cheap breakfast set from Xin Wang Cafe. The set consist of a hot milk tea, half boiled egg and two kaya toast. The milk tea was creamy smooth, though the tea aroma was not there. The half boiled egg was okay, with egg york still flowing with yellow juice. The kaya toast was disappointing. The bread was grilled to crispy, but the butter was not fragrant and kaya was just sweet, lack of heavy coconut taste.

Chicken Macaroni has always been a comfort food for me. One rainy morning, I ordered this from Wang Cafe. This is the Chicken Macaroni ($3.90). When it came, the soup was piping hot. I almost scalded my tongue. The macaroni was boiled till it was very soft. You don't need much strength and energy to chew through it. The shredded chicken was rather tough though. The dish also contains bean sprouts which tasted a bit raw so I buried them at the bottom hoping that they will be cooked more. The soup

I decided to visit Wang Cafe for dinner, i like it that they sold local delights like mee rebus, mee siam, kaya toast and soft boiled eggs. This time round I decided to try their mee siam. I think it was a little overpriced because the dish does not have meat and yet they charge quite expensive. But nevertheless, the mee siam gravy was very delicious, the acidity level was just right, not too sour. They were pretty generous with the tau pok and bee hoon.

I was surprised by how expensive the curry chicken is at wang cafe. They have this promotion, a bowl of curry chicken, choice of rice or bread and a drink for $7. I knew it was pretty expensive when I ordered but i thought the portion of the curry chicken would be large so i went ahead and ordered. to my surprise, when they served my order, there was only one "skinny" chicken drumstick and three potato slices. it was pretty miserable. i thought the price will be exponential to the portion of chi

Service was quite fast but i felt that the staff were more like in their own world, chatting away so loudly and didn't even bother serving me properly.

Chicken macaroni soup - $3.90
Macaroni was soft and easily broken down, perfect for someone who is sick and doesn't feel like moving a.k.a me. There were some bean-sprouts inside, felt it was juicy, although it was thin and long. Chicken was also very soft and tender. I think this dish is quite appropriate for the sick as the soup isn't laden with oil but was still palatable. I would like to add that there were quite a lot of bean sprouts and green garnishes; v. healthy!

Recommended for those who want a simple meal (and the sick - comfort food!)

Pau

I never expect Wang Cafe to serve such a good big pau. I tried it for the first time and fall in love with it instantly. The skin for their pau is not too thick. It came with juicy filling of chunky pieces of meat and hard boiled egg in it. The filling is slightly more than most of the big paus out there. It still tasted good after left it for a few hours. I will definitely come back for more of it.

Wang Cafe is not just a place for coffee. They do offer local delights like curry chicken and even fishball bee hoon soup. I tried it once. It tasted not too bad. It came with a good amount of bee hoon with ingredients like fishball and fishcake. It was served in MSG free clear soup with only very slight peppery taste. Such a bowl of fishball bee hoon goes well with their nice coffee!

I go to this Wang Cafe at least a few times per week. It is within walking distance from my place. I always go there to have the curry chicken noodle and their coffee. Their curry chicken noodle is easily one of the best in Singapore. The texture of the yellow noodle tends to be a bit softer after soaked in the curry sauce for a while. The taste of the curry gravy is not very spicy. The noodle came with boiled egg, tau pok and fishcake. The portion is just nice for me.

I ordered myself a bowl of mee rebus. It was really good. we did not wait long for the food to be served. the gravy of the mee rebus was really thick and tasty. there were quite a lot of tau pok bits in it. they also added a hard boiled egg. I like the gravy as it is not too sweet and spicy. When squeeze the lime, it gives it a tinge of sourness. The noodles are very smooth and goes well with the gravy. The portion was not too much but just nice.

This is my first time trying the pau here. It lives up to its name and is really quite large. The bread is soft, though not the very fluffy kind. It is not very thick and you can taste the filling with just the first bite. The filling was really nice. Chicken is well marinated, juicy and tender. It is not very fatty or oily. It costs $2.80 for one. Worth the money in my opinion. Will definitely order it again.
