Premium cakes from royals Smile Dec 18, 2010
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Bakery | Halal

It was a friend's birthday so we decided to buy a birthday cake for her birthday celebration. After walking around a few bakeries, we decided on The Royals because their cakes are very nice. We had the Blackforest cake and it came in a shape of a square for easy cutting. The cake was very rich in chocolate taste and very creamy but you will not get sick from it. It was sweet but cakes are supposed to be sweet. Texture was very soft and it melts in your mouth. Great.

A joint from HK OK Dec 13, 2010

Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi

It was a long wait before Itacho Sushi decided to open an outlet in Singapore. I had tried it in Hong Kong before. The queue was quite long when we reached the outlet at Ion Orchard. We waited for quite a while before we managed to get our seats. You can expect to be served fresh sashimi in this sushi joint. We ordered salmon sashimi and scallops. They were delicious. However, their fried items were so nice. Overall, the standard of the food was still acceptable. However, the service of the staff might need to be improved. If you have time constraints, you may have to skip this outlet.

Delicious cake Smile Mar 10, 2011

We were there for a purpose, that was to celebrate a friend's birthday. After walking and looking at the cake shops, we decided to get one for the Royal's cafe. It was a tiramisu cake and it was square in shape. Service was good as we left the cake there as we were not done with our shopping. The service staff gladly accepts our request.

The cake was very delicious. The texture was so soft and the cream was so smooth that even single bite of the cake seems to be melting in your mouth. A little bit sweet but has a very good flavour. The chocolate or cocoa powder on top of the cake has a slight bitter taste and it compliments the sweetness of the cake very well. Yummy.

Good taste and delicious soup Smile Nov 22, 2010

Categories : Steamboat/Hot Pot

Steamboat aka hotpot...jpot is part of Jumbo seafood and that explains why the seafood we have at jpot is so fresh.

We had the superior broth and when we taste it without ingredients, it was simply sweet and delicious. After adding the ingredients like prawns, meat, vegetable, the soup started to taste a bit salty as the seasonings used to marinate the meat goes into the soup. The soup can be re-filled so just get the waiter/waitress ti fill it up when you want more soup. There is a station for you to mix your own sauces.

When our set arrived, it looked as if we will still be hungry after consuming all the food but surprisingly, we were very full when we finished up the plates. Quality is a thumbs up. If you prefer quality over quantity, this is a place for you.

Do leave behind some room in your stomach for the dessert because the snow ice dessert is not bad...cooling after a hotpot.

The restaurant is very clean and the service is good as the waiters/waitresess come to you as soon as you calls out to them.

This is a place for good quality food and good service.

It was my very first visit to this stall and it just happened that we were hungry so we just want to have our food. Passed by this stall and after looking at its menu, decided on the lotus pork ribs soup with cuttlefish and a bowl of rice. It also came with a plate of veggie. Oh my god, the soup was really so delicious and I really loved it. It was sweet and full of flavours. There was a generous helping of lotus pieces and pork, not forgetting the dried cuttlefish that added flavours to the soup.

Proced at about $4.50 - $4.80 I think, it was really a good meal and I enjoyed it very much. If next time you happened to be in Chinatown, do give it a try.
