We ordered Popiah as our side dish during lunch time. It located near my office. The stall was small as normal hawker stall, the boss was running his business by his own as I didn’t saw any helper beside him.Homemade popiah skin used to wrap the fresh ingredients, I won’t say it was fantastic yet it was tasty and the filling was generous. The paper-thin popiah skin was just nice, not too hard while accompanied the ingredients which a bit wet along with gravy. The price increased from $1.20 to $1.30, I don’t know since when. It was actually still considered inexpensive by the way.

the queue here is always amazing but it is worth the wait as I love the killer garlic and chilli. They has been there since a very long time.My conclusion, this poh piah tastes good with the balance is just right. The only problem is that it is a little limp and the skin (handmade but procured from elsewhere) just lacks that chewiness of which the Qi Ji one is still currently the gold standard. perhaps maybe I should ask the uncle to make a specially turgid one for me!!

At is a love at first bite for me for ABC popiah. I like how their stewed turnip (mang guang) within the roll retains some of its crunchiness and yet is able to absorb all the flavours of the seasoning in the hot simmering saucer. The popiah skin is also one of the best I had, I can't quite describe it, but it is really unlike the other popiah skins that I had tried before. This is has less of the artificial chemical-like taste. I think their popiah skins are handmade, which explains the better taste. This is really a must try!
