Tried the Roast chicken with roast pork at $4 with their dumpling soup at $4. The roast chicken did not have the roasted fragrance but was tender enough for chicken breast. The roast pork, as usual, was leaner than the fatty roast pork but was a tad dry. Alex’s Eating House was introduced by a colleague of mine claiming it offers one of best roasted meat in Singapore. When we reached at 12.40pm, it was packed with hungry diners. We finally got a table after waiting for about 10 minutes. I ordered a Char Siew Roasted Pork combination. I was amazed by the amount of large pieces of meat at only $4. The Char Siew is well-marinated, sweet and slightly charred. The roasted pork is crispy and the meat is savory.

After finished my project, my friends and I decided to go to Bugis to try this restaurant famed with its char siew and it is quite good here although by around 2 pm, it was a little dry. However, the sauce is very good and definitely one of the better around. The sio bak was ok only, as the skin is not crispy enough, even though the meat's flavour was still flavourful.
