Where can you get the cheapest golden sand custard bun () in Singapore? Baker Talent's golden custard bun only cost me $0.90 each. This bakery's bread is not exactly the best tasting one in Singapore but i can say that it's definitely one of the cheapest around town and the taste is actually quite decent.Baker Talent had kept the price of their Golden Sand Custard Bun at a "promotional price" at $0.90 for a couple of years since their opening in Singapore. Everytime I walk pass Baker Talent, I never fail to see a long queue forming. Decided to check out what's the hype about this bread stall that has a queue even at a secluded corner. The prices of most of the bread range from $0.60 to around $1.50, relatively cheap compared to established brands such as BreadTalk.I bought the hot dog bread as it just came out from the oven about 1-2 turns before me! I was so excited to finally try this bread and it was indeed astounding! For a simple bread that taste so good and is cheap, it is little wonder why there's a queue. The bread is very soft and it doesn't become very dry and clumpy when you're chewing it. I gobbled it down without seconds and craved for more! This is the Cranberry Cheese Bread ($0.80), it was a love at first bite!! As I sink my teeth into this fluffy and chubby bread, i could taste the cheese and cranberries rushing in! The bread was so soft, it's like the bread soft toy but it taste really really good! This is the Lemon Cheese Bun ($0.90). The cheese here is more runny than the cheese in the Cranberry Cheese Bun. The sourness of the lemon flavoured cheese is just nice and the bread is soft and fluffy. This is perfect for a light snack or if you just need a pick-me-up. Chanced upon this bakery at Choa Chu Kang & bought a few buns. Sis & BIL says the queue is always very long. The buns are just less than $1 eachGolden Sands Bun (黄金流沙包) looks just like an ordinary but, the salted egg flows out of the bun when you tear the bun apart. Got the custard bun ($0.90) from Baker Talent. As usual, the bun is very soft and fluffy. The consistency of the custard filling is a little more runny than I expected but still good to eat. Baker Talent is never stingy with the filling in the bread so you can always expect a great bun that is always stuffed solid with tuna/ cream cheese/ custard, etc filling. Everything is cheap too! Baker Talent has cheap and good bread. Always a great choice for breakfast on-the-go! This is the Cranberry Cream Cheese Bread. Most or all of their bread are sold for about $0.90. Nowadays, it's hard to even find bread that are sold for $1 or less. What I really love about their bread is that it can be left overnight and the bread will still be soft the next day. Furthermore, they have always been very generous with their filling. This cranberry cream cheese filling is a huge scoop and you can actually see the cranberries on the bread, unlike other stalls that are very stingy with their cranberries. The Baker Talent stall concept is unlike that of Four Leaves or Crystal Jade Bread. You do not take the bread by yourself with a pair of tongs and a tray. Instead, there is a line that you join and the counter staff will take the bread for you and place it in a plastic bag. The cranberry cheese bun here at Bakery Talent is really good. After tasting one that my mother bought back for tea, I had to make my way there for more. The bun is awfully reasonably priced, less than a dollar. I took a front view of the bun, it is coated with cranberry bits, the cream cheese is inside the bun. I deliberately tore the bun into two to show the cream cheese infused into the inner walls of the bread. The combination of the cranberry and cream cheese is indeed heavenly. They introduced two new flavours recently – Ham and cheese, and Sausage cheese.Tried both flavours ;DHam & CheeseI quite like the ham and cheese. The cheese added on top of the ham is more like cream cheese and it goes well with the ham which is not too salty ;DThe bread, as always, is nice and it retains some moisture within so that it is not too dry to the throat.Sausage CheeseAs for the sausage cheese bun, the sausage is one whole sausage which is really worth it for the price of $0.90.However I did not quite like the cheese that was added with it. I’m not very sure if its cheese but it has a cheese-like texture, creamy and sticky.That puts me off a little as it didn’t really suit my taste :xNonetheless it is really worth it as compared to the other bakeries.This bakery is my favourite ever since I first tried it. Ever since I ate their bolo bun, I been pretty excited to try their other flavor buns. This time round I got myself their cranberry cheese bun. I must be lucky to go at the correct time cos the bun was actually warm, fresh from the oven. I will review it here.First tried the buns at the Boon Lay Shopping Centre , sometime in July 2012.The custard bun at Boon Lay Shopping Ctr are quite "oily"and the texture I try is quite soft. Don't really taste like a bun.Even though their buns at Boon Lay are cheap, I dare not try too many of their buns. However I may still consider other of their buns. For example, the bun that has ham and corns filings (the bun that has a whiter color ) tasted more like bun to me and I gave it a thumbs up. The queue at the branch is getting shorter too and that's another reason the quality of the buns may improve since there is no rush to bake the buns. I think one of the most popular bun at this stall is the bolo butter bun. They have two kinds of bolo buns, the butter one and the chocolate one. The chocolate one is also quite popular but they dun really refill it very quickly. The bolo butter bun is so popular that they actually have a lot of trays on stand by. And normally when you think they have trays on standby the buns would not be hot and fresh but when I got my bun, it was very hot. The butter in the bun was also warm. I joined in the long queue of people to queue for the bun that is sold here. The bun here are so cheap as compared to those bakeries else where. You can actually get a fairly large size bun for less than a dollar. A lot of people in front of me ordered the bolo bun. The lady queuing in front of me told me that their bolo is really good and she strongly recommend that I try it. So I bought my family four bolo. The bolo were piping hot when they serve to me. their buns cannot take yourself, you have to order at the counter. It was very fragrant and the bun was very light. Really good.
