The first look at the restaurant is.. Oh! Is that Naruto's Sasuke and Sakura on the restaurant? Went to ebiboshi with a friend and all I can say is that it is overated...So what if it has up-to-date technology such as touch-pen ordering and such? My friend and I had a hard time trying to figure out how to order. We also had a hard time trying to signal for a waitress to take our orders as they are all out of sight..Ordered shoyu ramen and all I can say is that IT IS TOO SALTY. It's really salty and you can get sick of it after a few mouthfuls.. GAH. Did not finish it in the end. The ramen

Ordered shoyu ramen and all I can say is that IT IS TOO SALTY. It's really salty and you can get sick of it after a few mouthfuls.. GAH. Did not finish it in the end. The ramen also tastes cheap.

Guess I should predicted this when there's only 2 - 3 customers at that point of time...

We had the Paitan with collagen and chicken soup base. The first time round I had some Japanese soup base which was sweet and I wanted to had it this time round but just couldn't get the right name of the soup base even with the helped of the staff.

Still nice, but not as nice as the first time round I came. One thing I noticed was that there's no food display that we could help ourself with. Everything was now ordered and served, the first time round they only controlled the meat and you could help yourself with the rest. There's no dessert too, maybe it was lunch...

And yah, there's 2 hours limit for the steamboat. So if you have gathering, this is not a place I would recommend. The first time I went which was on a weekday this place was very crowded with long queue outside and you really have to make a reservation.

Setting: 4/5
Service: 4/5 (Service was prompt.)
Parking: 4/5 (Weekdays, -1 if it is weekends.)
Menu: 5/5 (If you want to eat some sushi or some don etc there is Tsubohachi, steamboat is under Tora Shabu and there's dessert too under Sweet brothers. All under one roof of Ebisboshi Shotengai.)
Taste: 4/5
Price: 3/5

The bill was $40+ after $8.80 discount.

*No photo taking was allowed in the restaurant which I was guilty of!

I love steamboats and I must say I'm a huge fan. Well, then what do you say to sitting down on a nice couch, in an air-conditioned place, and being served by frenchmaids? I would think it's a dream come true for under $20 nett per person. i.e., $15++ for students! They have seafood (crabs, scallops no less), meat (beef, pork, chicken) and other random stuff like veggies, sausages, etc! You must experience it for yourself. Was there for lunch and tried the Unagi Rice.It is a very unique "Japanese Claypot rice"They will cook only when ordered and it takes at least 20 minutes to be ready. The Hokke FIsh has a very fishy smell. Luckily, it has a lemon to ward off the fish smell. Other than that, it is actually a very tasty big fish. Well grilled, you can taste the freshness without the fishy smell.

I love this place! OMG it's not overly crowded on a public holiday and the ambiance was lovely like a japanese village. order the Hokke lunch set that cost about $11+. Totally worth it. The fish was excellently prepared and a squeeze of lime did the trick in making it extra appetising. Will definitely be back again to try out more unique authentic japanese offerings.

To be less vague, Ebi Boshi Shotengai is actually a cluster consisting 5/5 Japanese restaurants. I've read some reviews online and most people have said they operate by using a self-ordering application with an electronic pen but as much as I remember, I went to Tsubohachi and it didn't. I think Tsubohachi, being 1/5 of the cluster, is the only outlet doing manual ordering just like any other restaurant out there.I've been here a couple of months ago with my family to celebrate my late grandma's

I've been here a couple of months ago with my family to celebrate my late grandma's birthday. It was my dad's suggestion and I found it to be a relieve.

A big Japanese restaurant with authentic deco and soft music. We were also sitted at a low dining table that required removal of shoes and this made our experience felt more traditional. A menu with a large spread of varieties of ramen, udon, hot plates, sashimi, sushi, don, etc.

I had a premium sashimi platter. I praise that they were fresh and of chunky slices, there were 5 varieties in total and all were equally good. It's been a while since I've been here and my memory don't quite serve me what we else we exactly ordered, we ordered so much food! I do have some pictures for illustration though. I also do remember that my parents, sister and grandma were all satisfied with their food. The hot dishes were served hot and the cold dishes were served cold. A recommended Japanese place as service was remarkable too.

Order your food through the use of an electronic pen thingy by pressing on the individual items and quantities. Gets a bit irritated after a while as sometimes it takes quite a while to get our order through.Other than that, the food is good! One of the better-tasting jap food around. I recommend going for the sashimi which is fresh & the gyoza which comes with a choice of a few flavour combinations.Basically, everything we ordered were good so maybe you people can choose items based on the chef'
