At a chinese ceremony, a 10 kg roasted suckling pig was ordered from Roasted Guan Chee Hong Kong Roasted Duck. During the cutting process, it was not difficult to cut the suckling pig. It was not oily as the oil could have dry up during the roasting process. From the picture, the suckling was not a big pig as there was not much meat at the belly. The taste of the suckling pig was not salty. The skin was crispy. There was fat yet it was not oily. The suckling pig costs about $300.

I like the roast duck noodles here as the noodles is springy and cooked to just nice. Beside roast duck, they also sell the normal Hong Kong roasted meat (char-siew, roast meat, roast chicken etc). I had the duck and I was not disappointed. The duck meat is roast to perfection, not dry and still maintain it moist. The portion given was just nice too. I would love to try their other roasted meat when I am back next time.

This stall sells a HUGE repertoire of roasted (and even non-roasted) meats - Roasted duck, braised duck, roasted chicken, steamed white chicken, roasted pork belly, char siew, roasted suckling pig and dumplings. For the char siew + roasted pork belly rice - Char siew is very good, well caramelised and tender. Roasted pork belly's skin is crispy, meat inside tender and striated with layers of fat that melts in your mouth with each bite. For the wanton noodles - Noodles serving was huge, the noodle

For the wanton noodles - Noodles serving was huge, the noodles themselves springy and the sauce & chili flavoring good. Char Siew is wonderful as well (refer to above description). Wantons were not bad, with a reasonable amount of pork within, much better than the pitiful amounts given nowadays.

For the shrimp dumplings soup - Dumplings were large with a single fresh prawn each and an equal amount of pork within.

All 3 items ordered came up to $10.50 for 2 pax, which I think is quite cheap.

My only gripe for all the dishes is that the chye sim they use is quite "old" and tough, a bit bitter too, even though they were nicely dark green in color.

Dropped by Guan Chee HK Roasted Duck outlet here in Hougang, where most of the coffee shop patrons are actually consuming roasted meat from this stall. It was quite crowded during lunch time but the crowds subsided after lunch hour. The ordering system was quite efficient- place your orders with the staff (they are wearing an orange polo tee bearing the name of the shop, you won't miss them), take a seat and your food will be served shortly. It was quite crowded during lunch time but the crowds subsided after lunch hour. The ordering system was quite efficient- place your orders with the staff (they are wearing an orange polo tee bearing the name of the shop, you won't miss them), take a seat and your food will be served shortly. There were three of us, so we just told the staff how many of us and what meats we wanted and they would decide what portion to serve that will be suitable for three person's consumption. I would say their estimation was quite on the spot and each of us had our fill of roasted meat.

We ordered a plate of roasted pork ($8) and half a duck ($12) to go with rice. They will serve the required dark sauce, plum sauce and chili to go with your plate of roasted meat. The roasted pork was decent- what was most fantastic about the roasted pork was how crispy and crunchy the roasted top layer of the pork was. The pork was tender and had sufficient fatty parts to go too. The roasted duck was a little tough, but it was well done too- very flavourful and chewy. Goes well with the dark sauce or plum sauce provided!

Our total bill amounted to $23 which I felt wasn't expensive since we had three persons and the meat portions were quite generous. You might have to brave the crowds during peak periods though.
