I have heard so much about this filipino fast-food and finally I get to try this myself. I ordered a 2pcs chicken joy value meal, which come with 2 pcs chicken, rice, mash potato and a drink. The chicken was indeed crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, it is definitely in my favourite list now. However, I didn't really like the rice as it soggy and the mashed potato wasn't hot enough. Overall, I will recommend to get an ala carte for the chicken only.

Jollibee is one such fast food outlet which serves a wide variety of food, they sell food ranging from burgers to chicken and even spaghetti. Finally the massive crowd has dispersed since the opening of jolibee and I decided to go check the food out. Though the queue was still a little long, the process of queuing is still fast and swift. There are 6 - 7 cashiers in duty so I guess that sped up everything. I like how they control the crowd - you have to order your food first and look for a seat later. But doesn't affect me cos I am having a takeaway (the scintillation of the restaurant was quite bad). I wanted to try their Spaghetti

I wanted to try their Spaghetti with Chicken but there's only a one chicken option, so I decided to get the 2 pc chicken rice set. One thing to note, you are not allowed to choose your preferred chicken parts.

As a big fan of fried chicken, I feel that the chicken is a so-so, not that much of a wow factor, though I think the chicken skin is crispy and nice. The rice is wrapped up and look like a burger and it was cold though when I start digging in. The sauce for the rice tasted okay too. Overall I think I will just stick to my favorite Popeyes and Texas Chicken if I'm craving for some fried chicken in future.

I hated how they weren't environmentally-friendly though, this paper only used for a few seconds before it gets burned, and it doesn't even SPEED THINGS UP. There should be some app where we can key in on our phones and it can just be loaded on the counter crew's cashier machine you know? Anyway. Back to the food, if you haven't queued up, you have to go now.

I decided to try their CHICKEN JOY after reading many reviews from OpenRice, and got myself the best of both worlds with Chicken Joy + Spaghetti for $6.60.

Despite having tried Jollibee previously and feeling disappointed after high expectations, my friend wanted to try it when we were at orchard, so I was forced to eat it again. It turns out that Jollibee is really average. The sauce for the rice is not flavourful at all. The fried chicken was still not up to scratch. The batter was bland as compared to KFC or Popeyes. It was not overly oily but it was just not as tasty as the other fried chicken branches. You are not losing out if you haven't tri

Finally after months and months of hearing about this place, I tried the famous Jollibee Chicken. The queue is not as crazy as when it first open but do prepare for about 10 - 15 mins of queuing. In a nutshell, I feel it is over-hyped. The skin of the chicken is very tasty and delicious, but the chicken itself was normal. Not as juicy as the chicken from Popeyes. The rice they gave was average and was mainly eaten with the gravy given. I would still prefer to eat at Popeyes.

There was no queue at all when I went on a Thursday afternoon, which is shocking in contrast to the long queue that I saw 3 months back! There was not much of a choice on the menu. I had the 2 piece chicken joy set ($6.60), which comes with 2 pieces of chicken, rice and drink. Despite the craze over it, I find myself not liking the fried chicken. The skin is not crispy enough, and the chicken breast meat is so dry!

Saw an extremely long queue at Lucky Plaza, and decided to join in the queue as I've not tried Jollibee yet. Queue moved relatively fast though, took about 15 minutes for me to get to the counter. I decided to go with the Chickenjoy value meal for $6.60. It consists of a portion of rice, drink and 2 pieces of fried chicken. A particular blogger claimed that he has had the best fried chicken right at this place. So, i came with a certain expectations. The presentation scored a high mark. The texture of these fried chicken was rather crispy and not oily. Another plus point. First mouthful. A little disappointed. I was honestly expecting it to be better but it tasted rather mediocre. Its taste was acceptable but definitely not exceptionally outstanding. It tasted a little towards Popeyes' Fried Chicken. Best fried chicken or not? i guess it is quite subjective. You should try it to decide for yourself.

I could not quite figure out the purpose of the small container of gravy given. I do not know whether the gravy is for the chicken or for the rice? I tried it with the fried chicken. It did not go quite well with the fried chicken so i guess it must be for the rice. I tried it with the rice this time. The taste did not go too well too but definitely better as compared to the fried chicken. The gravy tasted a bit like those gravy for mashed potato.

The texture of the rice was a little too soggy to my liking. It was wrapped in the paper and presented like a burger. That might be the reason why the texture was compromised?

So, would i be back? May or may not.

It took me almost 3 months before I tried visiting Jollibee in Lucky Plaza. I've heard feedback from my friends that the queue was always very long and that it may not taste the same as the ones from the Philippines.

When I finally decided to drop by the fastfood chain, I was surprised by how many people are queueing up! They even had a separate queue on the side of the restaurant just so people won't crowd the front area too much. Insane! Fortunately, my friend was already inside so I quickly went inside and thought about what to order.

Surprisingly, eventhough the queue was very long, it didn't take that much time before we arrived on the cashier/counter. It took about 10 minutes queueing up and another 5 minutes ordering.

Because you can't reserve seats while the other is ordering, we had to do a few rounds in the store to look for seats. Good thing that one of the staff was helpful enough to guide us to an empty table.

We ordered a bucket meal and the spaghetti. This store didn't have all the usual Jollibee items you'd see in Manila. They brought the more traditional items. Perhaps we can see a few more added to their menu as months pass by but for now, you're stuck with the bestsellers.

Overall, the food was great. It is the chickenjoy and the spaghetti that you'd enjoy in Jollibee more than the other items in their list.

Will I come back? Hell, yeah!

I remember having to go straight to any Jollibee branch right after I land during vacation in the Philippines. I think it’s one of the things that will tickle every stimulus in your body and convince you that you’re really in the Philippines. The smell, the scene and of course, the taste. The Filipino taste.

And now, after long years of waiting (way longer for most OFW here), Jollibee is finally here in Singapore. Although I haven’t got the chance to visit earlier because of the overwhelming acceptance of my fellow kababayan (countrymen), I still be able to taste once again my beloved ChickenJoy one lunch time with my Filipino officemates.

That unmistakable deliciously crafted smell, that crunchy sound on every chomp, that taste that can make you forget that you’re miles away from your birthplace, that great feeling that you are savouring the Filipino taste and that sudden realization that it was really worth the wait.

I choose to order the chicken spaghetti meal and happy to say their chicken joy
crisp and tenderness is so real as the one in Philippines! I also enjoy the spaghetti which really satisfy my cravings for the sweet and spicy Filipino style of spaghetti. The gravy reminds me also of home and makes me homesick because fastfood outlets here do not consider gravy as a staple condiment for chicken. #Jollibee

Its actually quite a nice combination to have the spaghetti as part of a meal. Would definitely like to try the 2 piece chicken meal next time instead. And hopefully the queue remains short
