The queue right at this stall was one of the longest there. I joined in and waited for about 20 minutes to order. I decided to go with the smallest portion at $3 though there are also the $4 and $5 available for selection. I waited for another 10 minutes after i placed my order before getting it. The possible reason for such a wait might be due to the preparation of some orders that placed in advance. The portion was rather decent for $3. The portion was rather decent for $3. It consists of freshly grilled tau pok and you tiao with fresh tasting ingredients like turnips, cucumber and bean sprouts.

It was mixed well with pretty good quality prawn paste then sprinkled with a good amount of grounded peanuts just before served. It tasted generally nice but not quite good enough to worth the wait as well as for a return visit.

One of the best rojak i ever had, with rich strong rojak sauce , fresh crunchy ingredients, and bbq you tiao and tau pok, this rojak is addictive, you can add on more ingredients by topping up, to me, normal portion is enough for us, our all-time favourite in this hawker centre, a bit sinful but once you eat it, you won't be able to stop, and got to be patient with the boss as he do it slowly with lots of orders.

My mom bought back this rojak from Kovan Rojak to share. Though it look like a mess but it actually is quite tasty. I like the sauce of rojak - sweet with the shrimp paste taste. The main ingredient - taupok and you tiao lost it's original crispy-ness but in return they are soaked in the delicious rojak paste. There's also a little bit of pineapple, cucumber, turnips and beansprout. I thought this cost $3 but my mom says she actually pay $4 for it. Very pricey I thought because of the small port

The FoodI ordered a small plate of rojak. The ingredients were all very fresh. Even the grilled tau pok and you tiao tasted fresh with crispy crunch to it. Now the most important is the sauce which was very thick, right amount of sugar and sourness. Rojak $6This was the first dish of our food hunt.Full review at : http://dairycream.blogspot.sgThe rojak starts at $3, add $2 for jellyfish and $1 for century egg. So we went for the full set which was buried in punchy gravy and heaps of peanuts. Nearly everything was good, the century egg was surprisingly bouncy. However, the gravy needs more Assam/tamarind paste and lime juices to shine. This soggy Tau Pok and You Tiao (dough fritters) may appeal to those who likes them chewy but we prefer crun

During the 1st day of the year, was heading back home after facial. Happened to have some craving of food in the market after a long time of not visiting them and finally slightly recover from sickness. Well the name of the stall was Rojak at kovan but it also opened in tiong bahru market and think it quite new in the market as I have seen this stall before although staying here for quite sometime. I decided to take a look and realise it was advertise by Edmund tan taken in kovan which seem delicious and cheap so decided to give it a try . Thus, I brought home with plastic box. The Rojak is just nice as the sauce is thick and sufficient. There were also enough pineapple , fruit, you tiao, vegetable and beans pout. I would the ingredient is more than some Rojak stall outside. Even when I finish the ingredient, I decided to taste it in a new way by dripping the bread from home to the sauce and consume it, surprise it taste great too. The price was said to be reasonable. As tiong bahru market was a tray return station in the 2nd level, the environment is consider clean compare among market, it may be hot but just nice if sit around under fans. While walking also, I seem to found this another new stall in the market known as 靓汤之家, which I decided to try it and soften my throat too since it written there in Chinese benefit to health and it been a cold season in December. I have the soup with carrot and sweet corn the pork rib which taste sweet and nice to my tooth. The soup was covered in the big nice pot which seem capturing. Before I even consume it, there was a auntie who told me it nice but she was having ABC soup if I am not wrong. After I finish it, I just wish if it would be more soup as I enjoy the sweetness of the soup and biting the sweet corn of not minding my image. Just feel better if sweet corn can be smaller bite. The uncle is friendly as he answer enquire and make recommendation accordingly and was having a great Simei service.

And I think I might just have found my favourite rojak with Kovan Rojak, one of the stalls located at Kovan Hougang Market & Food Centre just next to Heartland mall. I'm not the only fan, throngs lines up outside the stall on a daily basis just to get their hands on the savoury concoction prepared by the stall owner.

The mainstay of the dish would be the dough fritters (better known to locals as you tiao), stirred up in a mixture of prawn paste, cucumber, pineapple and cuttlefish, which is then sprinkled liberally with grounded peanut.

What distinguishes the rojak at Kovan Rojak from so many other alternatives around, would be the effort that goes into its preparation. The dough fritters and cuttlefish are pre-grilled over a charcoal fire for that added crunch and slightly charred flavour, and the 'rojak sauce' uses only the finest native-produced prawn paste the stall owner can find. Also, unlike the usual offerings, Kovan Rojak offers the option of adding additional ingredients such as jellyfish, century egg and cuttlefish for a more wholesome serving. Of course all this would mean a slightly longer than average waiting time, but it's worth it!
