Long John Silver's breakfast sets are quite popular among my friends. I had yet to try the sets until that day when I felt like eating a special breakfast! Did not want something too heavy with fillings (with ham, egg, etc.), so I opted for the french toast set, which came with a milo (at an extra charge). Long john silver's chicken planks are probably the cheapest main they offer. It is covered with thick floury crust, which my brother loves because it is very crunchy. I personally do not like how much flour was used for the crust. The taste of the chicken is pretty inconsistent. This is actually the first time I've had Long John Silver's fish fingers. I'm not a big fan of fish so I've never thought of trying it.Anyway, it was great. The crust is very thin and not as floury as compared to their chicken planks. The fish itself is very soft and actually had a fish taste to it (Not a big fan of their regular fish b/c of the lack of taste). However, overall, it is really too oily for something so small. It will be my alternative main if i don't want to eat chicken planks.

This is the first time i'm trying the black pepper rice add-on that costs $1.60. It is a pretty smaller serving..and they packed it in a round container that is probably only thrice the size of the cheese container they use for takeaways.The rice is topped off with a thick layer of black pepper sauce. I brought my children for breakfast at long john silver’s. their breakfast is so filling, my daughter and I shared the French toast set which comprises of 3 slice of thick toast. I am quite lazy to make French toast at home cos I find it very troublesome. Here, everything is done perfectly, toast is golden brown then topped with maple syrup, taste absolutely heavenly.

This is my favourite meal from Long John Silver's. I'm a prisoner of potatoes and cheese and LJS provides a combination of these 2 ingredients. Till now, I still dislike the use of plastic against fried starch. The feeling of plastic against hard fried food is just funny. But other than that, the food is just good. Despite the one colour tone for the entire meal, it tastes good. I ordered the cheapest meal which consists of 2 pieces of chicken and fries at the side. The chicken is really chewy and yummy.
