I went to New Station to lunch with 3 of my colleagues and each of us ordered the Salted Egg Pork Chop set and also an egg omelette to share. I think the Salted Egg Pork Chop cost $6.50 while the Egg Omelette cost around $6.I simply love the way the salted egg was cooked and infused together with the fried pork chop. It tasted heavenly and this dish is one of the usual dish that I will often order if I eat at this stall. The Pork Chop serving portion was quite a lot.The egg omelette tasted nice.

The egg omelette tasted nice. I also like it.

If you happen to eat at New Station, I will strongly recommend you to try their Salted Egg Pork Chop and perhaps their egg omelette (optional) as both of these dishes are delicious and at affordable reasonable prices.

New Station Snack Bar is one of the eateries in Far East Plaza that would always be packed with people during lunch and dinner time. The creamy pork ribs is not bad, but personally I prefer the salted egg version of this dish.

Have heard some pretty good reviews about this cafe style ci char place at far east and their signature dish of salted egg pork ribs. Ordered it with an fried egg and cost me $6 in total. I must say i'm impressed with this rice dish. First the pork ribs is more like pork chop so no worries about biting into hard bones with little meat. Each pork chop piece is well coated with salted egg sauce which is creamy yet not too salty. Its fragrance is also enhanced with the chilli padi and curry leaves

Anyway this is the kind of dish you know they deep fry the pork chop first then toss it with the specially made sauce so you feel its instantly cooked and not something that was mass cooked and stored. Thumbs up!

When the waitress was carrying the plate of Salted Egg Pork Rib rice to our table, the ambrosial scent of the salted egg infused with the fried pork rib permeated the air and made us salivated while we eyed the dish that was on the way to our table. The aromatic smell of the Salted Egg Pork RIb rice was simply beyond heavenly. Although at the first glance, you would simply dismiss this dish as it looks so ordinary, but I am sure your perception will change when you scoop the salted egg sauce mixed with the pork rib and bite into it. As you sink your teeth into the meat, you will be amazed at how well the meat was being cooked and it still remained crispy although the salted egg sauce was being generously spread over the pork rib. If you noticed hard enough, you would have realized that the salted egg pork rib was also cooked with basil leave and chili paddy. Perhaps all this contributed to its aromatic scent and delicious taste when you eat it. I simply love this dish and would strongly recommend anyone to try it if you happen to drop by Far East Plaza. For a serving portion of 1 person and priced at a reasonable price of $6.50, especially when you are in Orchard and prices of the food are crazy, this dish would definitely be light on your wallet and full and satisfying for your stomach. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 as mediocre and 10 as very yummy, I would give the Salted Egg Pork Rib rice a rating of 10, which means I find it very yummy and I would definitely return to eat it again.

We also ordered a small serving of Chye Poh egg omelette to share among the 3 of us. Although we ordered the small serving, but the actual size of the dish don't really look small to me. Here's a photo of the Chye Poh egg omelette:

I think the egg portion is huge. Moreover, the amount of chye poh given was generous and well spread out among the egg. The crunchiness of the chye poh mixed with the egg tasted awesome and at a decent price of $8 for the small serving, I would recommend you to try out this dish too if you happen to eat at New Station Snack Bar.

As for the ambiance, the outlet has little decoration and the whole dining experience is akin to dining at a coffee shop zi char stall, except that there's air conditioning at New Station Snack Bar. As the outlet is rather small and only have approximately 10 small tables that can only accommodate 2 person per table, I think this is one of the reason why you would have to wait in the queue for at least 20 to 30 minutes if you go during peak hours for lunch and dinner. If you are not in the rush for time, this place is definitely one place that's well worth the wait, as both the Salted Egg Pork Rib rice and the Chye Poh egg omelette are delicious.

They stop accepting customers at around 9pm as there were two times I went at 9pm and the auntie told me that they do not have enough ingredients left in their kitchen. So if you are planning to have your dinner at there, I would advise you to go early.

Overall, I would give a rating of 8 out of 10 for my dining experience. It will be much better if they can have more tables to accommodate more diners so as to reduce the waiting time during peak hours. I would definitely return to try out more of their other dishes. It's also a pity they did not play any music or songs in their outlet. I think this will definitely add to the overall ambiance if they do so.

Chai por egg - filled with generous topping of chai por. As I'm more of a savoury person, the chai por egg and pork rib goes really well together.

Be prepared to queue for around 10 to 15 minutes as this place is always packed with office workers who work around this area.
