You'll be greeted by "Jeanette Aw" at the door, followed by the prompt and attentive staff inside

- Bawan Kepiting Broth ($6.90)
I tried the bawan kepiting broth, which is described as chicken meat balls and shredded bamboo shoots in clear chicken soup. It's served with a choice of either rice, glass noodles (my choice) or macaroni. The chicken soup is a light-tasting broth, not too bad taste-wise, although I would have preferred more brewed chicken taste in it. Five large chicken balls were given, and they had fresh crab meat within the balls too - Nice. The glass noodles went well with the soup, but the serving of the noodles were a bit too little. But...that means your stomach will have room for dessert haha.

- Cheesy ayam cutlet ($8.80)
The chicken cutlet is freshly fried and thoughtfully cut into pieces for you. Cheese oozes out from within the tender chicken chop, quite yummy indeed. The coating of the cutlet is crispy and crunches well with each bite. The side salad served is a normal kind of coleslaw while the fries are crinkle-cut fries which were not piping hot when served - they could have been left out for a while as they were on the point of getting a bit soggy. Gotta improve on those fries.

- Calamansi soda
The calamansi soda is a good drink to follow with after the cutlet. It'a a rather "solid" drink, with an intense calamansi flavor. At least one can be sure that they did not skimp on the amount of calamansi inside (although it's at a rather pricey $3.90). If you can take the sourness, this is a really refreshing drink. Personally, I think the balance between the sour calamansi and sweet soda is just nice.

- Soya bean curd topped with azuki red beans

Seeing that they have a 1-for-1 promo for the soya bean curd, of course I could not resist ordering one to try.
Being a fan of red beans, I simply had to opt for the $1 top-up of azuki red beans. The red beans were sweet and fragrant and cooked to a nice soft consistency, just the way I like it
The soya bean curd ($1.80) itself was smooth and silky and not too sweet, quite a nice dessert to end off the meal.

This is definitely a nice place to chill out for a casual meal!

Owl Cafe is newly opened at Star Vista. Its a nice place to chillout with your friends and have some coffee or desserts. They even serve main dishes. We ordered their recommended coffee (as shown in the pic) which costs $3.80++ and the chilled black rice dessert with ice cream also cost $3.80++. The dessert tasted great! However, I couldn't appreciate the taste of the coffee. Still prefers those latte kind of taste. They are also famous for another dessert - durian pengat. Yummy!

Calamansi Soda was sour and it was not to my liking as I don't like Calamansi.

Here's the photo of our Durian Pengat, which cost $5.80 per cup.

This Durian Pengat was simply heavenly, delicious and mind blowing. Pure durian pulp, contained in the elegant wine glass simply made this dish a sinful but must-try dish if you ever visited Owl Cafe. However I think that the portion they gave for the durian pulp was slightly little and it could have been better if they can give a bigger portion of the durian pulp. Out of a rating of 1 to 10, with 1 as mediocre and 10 as very yummy, I would give Durian Pengat a rating of 9, highly recommended item that you must try if you visit Owl Cafe.

My total bill came up to $18.25 for a cup of Calamansi Soda and 2 glasses of Durian Pengat. Both of us truly enjoyed our Durian Pengat and we will definitely order Durian Pengat on our next visit. Durian Pengat would also be one of the highly recommended must try dessert at Owl Cafe.

Here's the photo of my receipt:

Overall Satisfaction = 8 out of 10. I would definitely return to Owl Cafe on my next visit and order their Durian Pengat. The staffs are friendly and the interior design of this cafe was also nicely decorated. It's a pity I didn't not take a photo of the cafe interiors.
