Have been wanting to try this restaurant, especially their starters and side dishes. On top of the normal menu, they also have special menu for different seasons. Great that we have a bigger crowd for this visit and we can order to our heart content.Normal Chinese restaurant setting. Service is a bit slow and they charge for plain water. Chicken and Chinese Sausage roll 腊肠鸡卷 @$9.90
Unique combination that blend the fragrant fatty sausage into fresh tender kampong chicken thigh meat. If you always find Chinese sausage too oily, this dish will definitely you a different perspective - Yummy! Must Try!

Drunken Cockle 一品醉蚶 @$9.90
Its not really new to me as I had tried something similar at a zichar store at Commonwealth. Served cold, topped with a generous amount of minced garlic, some sliced chilli and spring onion with wine marinade - refreshingly good.

Braised Pork Intestine 九转小肠 @$13.90
Multiple-layers intestine, didn't really count if there were actually 9 layers of intestines there - chewy dish with savoury braised sauce bursting out while you chew

Stir-fried Yam 酥炒芋头 - M @$16.90
Can't really decide if this is a dessert or savoury dish. Fried Yam cubes were sweet, crispy, caramelized sugar on the outside while savoury fluffy on the inside - Unique taste

Definitely recommend this restaurant!
Recently they introduced All Day Set Menu which is definitely value-for-money compared to their slightly pricey ala carte. Watch out for my review at http://monsoontravel.blogspot.com/

Ever since I have tried Putien noodle at foodcourt, I fell in love with their light in taste noodles. I was really hungry when I was walking at Nex shopping mall that day. There are too many eating places at Nex, I almost lost idea of what to have for dinner, suddenly I saw Putien.It was during dinner time, there were quite a lot of diners already. It was during dinner time, there were quite a lot of diners already. I like their simple and clean decoration theme. Browse through the menu, I stick to noodle. I chose seafood braised noodle (lor mee) plus century and salted eggs with spinach. While I was waiting for my food, I saw both sides of my table were serving with a small bowl of seaweed and I didn’t have it! Could it be single person did not serve?!?!

The restaurant isn’t serve plain water, whatever beverage is chargeable. Thus I ordered a cup of chrysanthemum tea. First they served spinach, I couldn’t see salted egg in it, instead it has already blended into a sauce, the yellowish sauce was the salted egg. The taste was right and light.

When they served the noodle, they just left it on the other side of the table, the person who placed the noodle couldn’t bother whether I could reach or not!!! Their service got to review. I liked to taste the gravy soup first, it was light and no msg, noodle consistency was right too, 2 small shrimps with 4 clams, overall taste was fine, no complain and no comment!

I will not return for sure because their service and pricey.

My boss brought us for late CNY luncheon. We ordered a set for 6 people. Of all the food, I love their chilled bitter gourd and prawns in herbal soup the most.It is worth the price as it was very delectable. I would not recommend if you are intending to dine in a quiet and private place though.The crowd was quite noisy and service is just average. The only draw is the new ambience and the great tasting food.

First visit to Putien. Nice ambience and setting. Love the lor mee which is in white unlike those normal ones in sticky black sauce. This is equally nice. Fried Prawn Roll with sweet plum sauce, hot cripsy and delicious! Prawn is tender and juicy despite it being fried. Sweet & Sour Pork with lychee is a new dish. Usually chef would use pineapple but in this case it was substituted with lychee. New taste and pretty yummy! Pork is tender and not too hard. All in all, nice and worthy!!
