It was a casual meet up hence we went to basement of The Central for our dinner. We settled on this Japanese eatery as the menu looks rather good. The prices are also much friendlier on the wallet as compared to the restaurants at the other levels. The menu is quite comprehensive and we took a while to order. I finally decided on a mixed set of salmon and pork. I think this costs only $7. Sorry for the slanted image as I hurriedly took the photo from the opposite side as I went to fetch other fr

The set also comes with soup and a small cabbage salad. The salmon is nice as the flesh is rather soft and flaky. The pork is more on the salty side, but when paired with the rice, it is still ok. While the food is not very nice, but it is still acceptable and the price is also reasonable. It is definitely a good place to have a filling and nice Japanese meal!

This little food stall situates at the basement of The Central at Clarke Quay selling really affordable simple Japanese food mostly below $6. I've gotten the Chicken Curry Don ($5.50) which I wasn't expecting much initially but was rather glad at its simplicity but nice flavoured curry which was served warm. The portions of chicken, potatoes and carrots were generous as well and cooked nicely to the tendered form. The rice was also nicely cooked and tasted soft to my liking. Overall it was a dec

Overall it was a decent Japanese meal at really affordable price considering it's location.

What first caught my attention for this food stall at The Central (Clarke Quay) is the price! Most of their set meals are along the range of $5-$6, which is very affordable indeed.I ordered their Saba Fish set at $5.50 which comes with a generous portion of Saba fish with a bowl of rice and miso soup.Their Saba is absolutely delicious! Grilled to perfection with crispy & salty skin, but yet soft and juicy on the inside. This is one of the best grilled Saba I had ever had and it's only $5.50! The

Their Saba is absolutely delicious! Grilled to perfection with crispy & salty skin, but yet soft and juicy on the inside. This is one of the best grilled Saba I had ever had and it's only $5.50!

The downside is that the rice is not fantastic but edible, and the soup is quite bland. But I guess they are just sides, the fish is the main focus and it's super good, and that's all that matters.

Highly recommended.

BBQ Chicken & Teriyaki Salmon set - about $6

I order this set which comes with a medium sized portion of BBQ chicken, a slab of Teriyaki salmon, small salad, rice & miso soup for only about $6. Very worth it.

Salmon is quite fresh, soft & goes well with the Teriyaki sauce. Chicken is okay too, doesn't taste dry at all. A very decent meal at a relatively cheap price.
