As i mentioned previously, i really love sushi tei for the many great dishes that they have to offer! Today, i am going to recommend another 2 dishes that i tried recently! First up is the salmon carpaccio. What i like about this is that its so simple, which really presents the freshness of the fish and the tastiness of the sauce! Next up is a avocado roll with unagi and prawns! I mean, who can dislike that combination?? Thats impossible! continue reading

Visited Sushi Tei Tampines One outlet for dinner and at the same time renew my membership due to expire end of August 2013.Aside from our usual orders of Chawanmushi, Ebi Tempura, Ebi Maki and Teriyaki Steak, here’s the recap of the three dishes we most enjoyed that evening.6 pieces of Stewed Cod roe and mango roll with lemon sauce specially created by West Coast Plaza outlet. Each roll has a long thin sliced of mango wrapped over the sushi meshi . Inside each roll there was a generous portion of stewed cod roe topped with a small piece of Kyuri with salmon roe. The lemon sauce complemented each roll well as the taste of the cod roe is quite bland. Accompanied by a small portion of salad lettuce with Sushi Tei dressing to go along with the dish.Price at S$12.00 for six pieces.Visiting Sushi Tei without sashimi is impossible. We ordered a plate of Tako and Salmon Belly Sashimi. The Tako is crunchy and fresh and so are the salmon belly pieces. I usually eat sashimi with young ginger slices to go along with the sweet sauce. This plate combination cost S$16.00.Hanasaki Ika Tempura is essentially calamari served Japanese style. This fresh squid pieces with smelt roe is deep fried with a mild batter. This is also the family favourite. Must be taken immediately upon serving .The calamari is always springy. Served with a plate of mayonnaise. Must be tasted to believe.Price S$6.00I paid S$40.00 for a further one year membership which also entitled me for six ten dollar e-vouchers.By offsetting the six E-Vouchers totalling $60.00 I only had to pay the balance of $8.95 for the dinner. continue reading

I wasn't very hungry the other day so I decided to get the golden mushroom wrapped with salmon roll - at around $8 it wasn't very value for money. The salmon was thinly sliced and well marinated, but the portion was rather small. It is good to eat it with rice, can be quite filling after finishing all 3 rolls. However, this dish is something one can prepare easily at home, should give it a miss as there are better dishes at sushi tei continue reading

My friend and I headed to Sushi Tei for dinner. She wasn't very hungry so she decided to order desserts instead of main course. She wasn't satisfied with the cheese cake caramel when the service staff served. It was different from the menu picture. It was small and we don't think it's worth it. Two thin slices costs S$5.50.The cake was frozen and very hard to eat. But the taste wise is nice. Kinda disappointed with it.Kaisen Ramen Salad @ S$16. It is indeed not bad as in terms of portion and taste. But the noodles texture and colour is believed to be made locally and the taste is like maggi mee. But nevertheless the combination of the noodle with the seafood (zuwai kani, salmon sashimi, ikura and scallop) with the special dressing is refreshing. I finished up everything except the lettuce as it was way too excessiveSince the cheese cake wasn't satisfying, Vina decided to order Shiratama Zenzai @ S$3.80. It is basically the red bean soup with dumplings. The soup wasn't that thick and the taste is just like normal red bean soup. I still miss Ichiban Boshi dessert which is quite thick enough and portion is even better. But this is base on my own tastebud. The location is good as it is located in the shopping mall. It is a good location as customers who shopped around the mall will have big probability to patronize for lunch & dinner. As for the service staffs, they are not that prompt to customers' request. We need to put up our hands up high to call them. Nevertheless Sushi Tei has been well established with their consistent foods quality and it does deserve the credit to be in the market for so long. They served varieties of japanese cuisine and the presentation of the foods are well managed. continue reading
