Thanying Restaurant (Closed)

I really like the vegetable dishes here. The kang kong is especially good being done is a Thai style over the regular Singaporean style. Instead of being fried with belacan, this dish is fried with a bean sauce so that it is not spicy. The vegetables are really tasty and crisp and fresh and the bean sauce is really yummy too with a nice savory flavour to it. Overall really good!

Thanying has really classy Thai food in a relatively high end environment. The food is generally of high quality with prices to match. One dish I really enjoyed was the deep fried whole seaboards which comes with a thai chilli sauce. The fish is fried to a crisp such that every part is edible. The tangy sweet spicy sauce complements the greaseless fish pieces well adding tons of delicious flavour and complexity in terms of taste. Also good is the pomelo salad and the green mango salad! Not just the restaurant is comfortable and cosy, the foods served here are equally delicious too. One of my favourite dish will be their cod fish, which the cod fish meat is very juicy and soft with no stingy fishy smell in it. It is well cooked with the sweet light sauce and great to eat it on its own or with a bowl of plain rice. However the price may be a bit too high here and the portion is rather small too. May not be really that affordable to everyone.
