rue to its name, The Baker's Story is a shop which specialises in cakes. Setup by Chef Eric Tan in 2004, who after years of working in various hotels decided to strike out on his own, The Baker's Story turns out cakes which are light, luxurious, and utterly delightful.

Actual ambience at The Baker's Story is lacking, limited by the small shop space. The 4 small tables are functional, and decor is minimal, consisting mainly of photographs of their cakes. The main attraction is the glass shelf where the cakes are displayed, making it very attractive.

Service at The Baker's Story is decent, as most customers order takeaway, rather than dine in. There isn't much interaction to speak of, but orders are fulfilled quickly.

Speciality cakes at The Baker's Story include their Cheesecakes, Brownies, Mousse Cakes and Tarts. Their Fruit Cake selection is rather limited. The Baker's Story also serves fresh salad during lunch.

Orchid Hotel is a relatively new building in this area with f&b shops lining up the ground floor, and not more wedding boutiques! Saw the brownies offered by Baker's Story, not sure if "A slice of heaven" is their tagline but that was enough to attract me in to explore further. Decided to try out one of their pecan nut and choc chip brownie which cost me $2.30. I'm totally into choc chip stuffs so this brownie was perfect, coupled with the crunchy pecan nuts, its leaves a fantastic bite. I also

I also like the fact the brownie doesn't just break into small pieces when bite, this baker's story one i can munch it off like a cake, nice! If only they have dine in concept where i can also order a nice latte or cuppa.

Never fail to melt my taste buds.

I'm a frequent of Baker's story (Sin Ming) However, I was meeting the boss there, Jimmy for some business deals. He is a pretty nice guy to talk with. My understanding of his brownies started like 4 years back. I can never explain how much I really love baker's story's brownies. They're really great in taste, great in look and probably one of the best brownies I have ever tasted.

This time, Jimmy treated me half a brownie with my boss the other half because we just had our lunch not long, dessert good choice to go with!

I would still go back to my all time favorite still, Mint Cheese Brownie.

The mint is so refreshing, reaching to your taste bud unknowingly that it probably would melt your senses. The cheese and chocolate is so rich that it would have a strong after taste of mint. I really liked it so much. I can't really express how much I thank Jimmy for coming up with this brownie. Thank you so much.

However, we decided to buy back to allow our colleagues to try. So we go for the assorted brownies, which have most of the flavours. Really good to go and nice to try. I would say some of my colleagues do know Baker's Story existence. Well, it's pretty wasted if no one know them because only they would be able to showcase how did cheese brownie even come about.

They have really varieties of flavours: mint, banana, macadamia nuts, orange cheese, original, oreo, and it ranges from S$1.90 - S$2.30 per piece. It's really very worthwhile.
