ION basement have a lot of food, which i decided to get a taste of the japanese pancake. Try a few flavours. Still prefer RED BEAN flavour is the BEST. This japanese pancake is different from the rest, it is cripsy outside the skin and soft inside. A pancake that you try it and never regret

Good food entitled good reviews. There's already 4 good reviews before this review. And i'm going to give a good review now. (Thumb up for the Tsukiji Gindaco)Long queue restaurant has their own reason. The Tsukiji Gindaco is always long queue no matter it's lunch or dinner time. Delicious food is their reason for the long queue. The tako ball as well as the octopus inside is big and unlike others tako ball stall. Must try food at ION Food Mall!

I was looking for a quick bite after shopping at Ion & decided to head down to B4 since there are many small eateries/ kiosks there. This little stall selling Japanese snacks caught my eye as it has been some time since I ate a Japanese fish-shaped cake! So immediately I joined the queue & paid for a custard flavoured cake (the last pc on the rack, luckily). The cake was warm when I had my first bite. The cake was warm when I had my first bite. It's my 1st time eating this & I'm surprised by its crispiness. I tink this is the 1st time in Singapore I found a Japanese fish-shaped cake that is really good
The fish may look a bit burnt but the custard filling's sweetness is just right & every bite is so crisp.

They have 4 different flavours: Japanese premium Azuki (red bean), custard, chocolate & banana, Sakura. I am definitely going back to try the others next time ;)

The octopus ball sold here are different from the others. They are very crispy even if you eat it 1 hour later. Once cooked, the octopus balls are served with a generous toppings of dried bonito(fish) flakes, green seaweed powder, takoyaki sauce and mayonnaise. Though the size of these tako balls may look smaller than the others, but for $4.80 that comes in six is definitely value for money. Additional toppings like egg mayonnaise is also available.

The crunchy bits of deep fried flour gives a warm tangy feeling to the taste buds. Takoyaki balls are sold in pieces of 4 or 8. They come is 3 flavours, being with egg mayo topping, vegetables topping and original if you prefer it plain without toppings.

The queue can take up to 20 minutes if you missed the batch of cooked tako balls as the chefs will probably take that amount of time to cook a batch of tako balls.

I would say the price is more expensive than other brands of takoyaki balls, but nevertheless it’s still worth the money and long wait as this brand of tako balls definitely taste better than the others in the market.

I still remembered the taste of the takoyakiI had in Tokyo.. it was so yummilicious! The outer layer of the tako ball is crispy and the octopus was generous.. I thought I would never find such good tako balls in Singapore until my friend bought me a box of Takoyaki for tea break! I was reluctant to try as but the smell attracted me to put my hands on it.. I love the katsuobushi (dried bonito flakes), it's one of the main thing you will need when eating this!!! The serving mayonnaise and the takoyaki sauce was generous and it enhances the taste of the takoyaki. The octopus in it is big!

I can't the right word to describe the takoyaki.. it is very unlike the normal ones you had in pasar malam or in the malls.. As the queue is always long, they will always serve fresh and piping hot takoyaki!!! If you are a takoyaki lover, you wil die with regret without trying this!

Oh ya.. not to forget the size per takoyaki is 2-3 times bigger compared to the normal ones. I will let the picture do the talking..
