Reached Zhi Cha @ Toa Payoh name Uncle Leong seafood this afternoon with my kaki's.

Of course ordered their signature dish Claypot Crab Bee Hoon noodles, sambal Kang Kong , Fried Beancurb and ABC Pork rib. When we reached there , seat quite empty as late lunch. Served slightly late about 15 min. Nice to see the Claypot crab noodles with chilli padi. The soup is thick and not oily at all. I like the aroma of soup and noodles with taste just right. The crab meat is very fresh as it doesn't stuck on shell. It can serve for 4 member with additional soup and noodles.
The sambal Kang Kong is slightly chilli and very fresh made. Those love chilli feel will love it. The fried Beancurb is soft and tender but don't really like those sauce as it is a little sweet for my taste.

Overall is a must try expecially crab which I felt must not miss.

Go dinner with my friends and we ordered a crab mee hoon soup the crab itself is $48 and soup very sweet and not milky thumbs up,crab is fresh and meat is thick. Beside this we also order a sambal kangkong and 三杯鸡 to share. Is quite normal nothing to rave about for the other 2 dishes Kangkong is quite spicy and the veggie is well cook and as for the chicken is very tender juicy. Overall we spent $70.80 for this meal.

Whenever I feel like having a 'crab' feast, Uncle Leong Seafood is definitely one of my top choices for it. Love the dining environment here as it is cosy and comfortable. I had a farewell dinner with my ex-colleagues. Since she is leaving Singapore for good, we decided to treat her Chinese seafoods at Uncle Leong Seafood branch located at Toa Payoh. It’s 7-8 stops away from Toa Payoh Interchange MRT station. You can take bus 238 to reach the building from the interchange. It was almost full house when we reached around 7.30pm and luckily we had made a reservation. So, no worries on the seating place. We ordered two method of cooking crabs. First is the Chili Crabs ($40 per kg) .Crabs is sweet and the gravy was rich and thick to go with the fried bun (mantou). Not too spicy for me and absolutely not to miss when you are having zi char at Uncle Leong.

Next is the Salted egg crab.I personally felt it is a bit dry and I am unable to taste the strong salted egg taste coated on the crab shell. The crab meat flesh fresh and sweet though.

Cod Fish with the choice of method cooking is available in the menu. We chose “chye poh” style. The fish taste fresh and it goes well with the pre-fried chype poh that was spread over the fish.

Claypot Beancurd (S$10/15/20) which comes with the decent proportion of bean curds and vegetables.
Overall waiting time is around 20 minutes but the crab order was delayed slightly. Neverthless, we had a great night catching up with great company and also good foods. We even got few dollars discount from the total bill as I was trying my luck with the staff. The staff said if we are paying by cash, they can round up the total bill. So, quite lucky for us that night. Some of the photos we took that night before we ended the session.

If you're a crab lover then Uncle Leong Seafood is a must try for everyone. I tried 1 of them signature dish " Jing Sa crab " which was really very fantastic and good. Their other dishes are also really nice. example their fried TOFU. They have a very special dipping sauce that comes with this dish. A sweet but not too sweet sauce that makes the tofu taste so much better.
Unlike most restaurants out there now a days, their dishes are all not very oily, not too salty or not too sweet. They are all just nice.
Their staff there are also very friendly and approachable.

A good place to consider if you wanna have a good get together meal.

Firstly diners will already have an impression its a crab specialist with the several crab shells decorated on the walls. My order for crabs was for the signature crab bee hoon soup and also the black pepper style. Love the soup taste especially when its served hot, just the bee hoon and the soup alone is enough to wow. Crabs on the other hand are freshed, with the crab meat easy to bite off and not stucked to the shell like dead crabs do. The black pepper version was also unique in its own way,

The black pepper version was also unique in its own way, not the usual spicy peppery type but the taste well balanced with the onions used, definitely an interesting black pepper taste i've tried, i give thums up for that. Other dishes were more average like the nescafe ribs and spinanch. Fried brinjal is worth ordering, fried to golden brown, you would not get the usual gluey texture of brinjal, in fact when it was served, i did not even know it was brinjal. Overall a good eat, with ample parking lots, not overly crowded environment, and most importanlty cheaper than Melben Seafood hahaha.
