Didn’t know what to eat for dinner but decided to get a bento box from Wadori. Wadori is under the RE&S Group of Family Restaurants which includes names like Kuishin Bo, Ichiban Sushi, Yaki Yaki Bo Teppanyaki, essentially all the restaurants you see lined at the Japanese Food Street at the basement level of Jurong Point.I ordered rice, with Chicken Cheese Ball, Quail Egg Wrapped in Pork, Ebi Fry, and Yakitori Chicken. I was shocked when the total bill came up to $7.10. I also asked for a stick o
The Chicken Cheese Ball ($1.60) tastes similar to the chicken cheese balls offered at Old Chang Kee but for the same price, it is marinated and heavily seasoned in the yakitori sauce, thus giving it immense flavour. Nice! The Ebi Fry ($1.30) is a bit pathetic. Though I like the crispy batter, the prawn is really small and meagre. The Yakitori Chicken ($1.10) is also marinated and seasoned in the yakitori season. It is also quite juicy and tender which makes it quite nice. I was expecting the chicken to be tough. Last but not least was the Quail Egg wrapped in Pork. I did not like it very much because the pork is quite chewy and I couldn’t really taste the yakitori sauce. Overall I think the quail egg is better suited by itself instead of being wrapped in pork. The rice ($0.90) came with the pickles and I like that there is the yakitori gravy over it which adds flavour to the rice.
