I am thinking of what to have for dinner when I pass by this stall. Seeing how busy the uncle is in making the porridge, I am thinking it must be good.I order a bowl of fish porridge which costs $2.50. As I am having it to go, I am charged additional 20 cents more. The porridge tastes very smooth and tasty, which little JJ likes it too. He finishes quite a bit of the porridge.

Chong Pang Food Centre turned out to be a lot smaller than I envisioned, but no matter. There's plenty of stalls and food here to try. It was raining heavily that day and I decided that a hot bowl of porridge would be an excellent choice. The competition at Chong Pang Food Centre is really intense because most of the stalls kind of sell the same thing (well, give or take.) I decided on a porridge stall right smack in the centre of the food centre. I don't stay in the North and this is my first t

I ordered a chicken congee at only $2.50 -Get this: It was chock full of fresh chicken meat, had a good amount of shallots+ spring onion, you tiao, and it cost under $3. Remarkable! The congee was silky-smooth and thick, and it was really tasty. You can add how much soy sauce and pepper you want so in a way you get to control the saltiness of your porridge. The ingredients are fresh and the whole bowl is so good that I polished it off within minutes -I might add that the portion is also sizeable given its price! Yishun is really far for me, but if I'm ever, ever in the area, I'm totally heading down for some porridge.

During weekends this store is quite popular. Don't be too happy if you don't see anyone queuing as the auntie of the stall usually take down the order in paper and that's why you don't see anyone queuing except for those who take away. For take away there will be an additional charge of $0.20.When I opened the container, I could smell the fragrance of the chicken clearly. The porridge was smooth and the texture was just nice! When I opened the container, I could smell the fragrance of the chicken clearly. The porridge was smooth and the texture was just nice! You don't need to add in soya sauce as the porridge was good enough - not too plain. I felt something lacking though which was the pepper! If you are like me who is going to take away, remember to ask the uncle to add pepper for you if you like pepper for porridge.
