For Mango and Shrimp pancakes, the flattened shrimps could be found in between the mango and the skin of the pancake. Not really good. Shrimps were quite mashed up.

For Crispy Tofu, I liked these big fried wanton with tofu inside but the bottom part of the skin was very oily.

Their Xiao Long Bao definitely cannot be compared with those restaurant type of standard. The skin was thick and inside was not juicy.

One point to note, although it is stated that it operates from 11am onwards, don't bother going 11am on the dot. I'd made an reservation at 11am but when I reached, they were still preparing and not ready for customers ): We only got served at around 11.30-11.45am.

Bad Points:

2. Xiao Long Bao was more skin than meat and really hard to chew.
3. Even though the buffet was ala carte ordering style, some dim sum arrived cold.

After this experience, our family will never patronize this restaurant again. The only upside that night was the okay service that the waiters and waitresses provided. No reason to go back to that restaurant at all

The environment was okay but the tables were to small for a dim sum buffet. We were given a menu which was different from the original menu as ours were buffet (acceptable). We then ordered the first round. The food took at least 15min to arrive when there were only 2-3 tables at that time. The few buffet spread that were for self-service were not acceptable especially the century egg porridge.

When we ordered our 2nd round, it took even more time to arrive. The staff were seen talking by themselves & laughing. The carrot cake that we ordered were hard & cold (when it took so long to arrive thinking it should be "hot from the oven"?). There were also many items on the menu that were not available..Do you still call it buffet?? Finally, we ordered our desserts from a guy & it took forever to arrive until we had to ask another staff. It only took less than 2 min to arrive when we told that staff.

First & the last time visiting the place.

We have booked 5 e-vouchers online and make reservation on 16th June 2012 for 5pax at Yummy Chopsticks at 6pm.

On the actual day morning, two more friends decided to join us for dinner and didn't mind paying the actual price. My friend called Yummy Chopsticks to book for the additional of 2pax BUT there was no response.

We arrived at the venue at 6.10pm and requested for a bigger table as we have 7pax instead of 5pax. This China waitress turned us down flatly citing that the big tables are being reserved. We told her that we tried calling to inform them of the additional of 2pax, but she told us that we should call the handphone instead of the restaurant telephone number. She suggested that she could put a small table to join the table that was reserved for us (the 5pax) and squeeze all 7pax around the table.

Our stand point is, there were vacant 5 tables meant for 8pax, why can't she let us have one and let us eat in comfort? However, the waitress refused us and insisted that all 5 big tables were reserved. I am utterly disappointed with
the inflexibility and unfriendiness staff and manager for not being able to accede to a customer's request.

Therefore, we demand Deal.com for the refund for the 5pax that we had paid for.

I bought the $19.90 deal.com promo. And this is heartfelt tears breaking Review.

I went around noon. There were approximately 08 customers already eating.

I have so much to say but I do not know where to start.

stated in the deal advertisement, Cosy ambience and environment. This is bullshit! It is stuffy, smelly and especially dirty. Rubbish scattered all over the floor are NOT even cleared, tables are NOT clean and set. Bits of food remains are left on the seats. This is not acceptable even if it is crowded. But NO! it can been seen, more staffs than customers. But still nobody bother to clean up. Staffs are seen seating around chit chatting. Trust me! Even after I've finished my food one hour later, all these rubbish are STILL NOT CLEARED!

Staffs are terribly groomed, with unkempt hair, dirty apron and tuck out tee shirt. With a blackie face as if I owe them money, seems so lethargic although there isn't much customers. Waitress slouch and lean on the table while taking my orders. BEST IS! when I ask what is good here, forever saying, 'xiao long bao'. Even I ask, anything else? still answer me, 'Xiao long Bao' It's like WTF!!!! Kitchen helpers are seen playing with their own mobile phones, some were even leaning against the table, some staring in the air daydreaming and some were even about to fall asleep. They gave me the impression as if ' No customers at all and they are bored stiff and need to kill flies to pass time.'

Food, stated over 100 items, but in fact only has about 20 to 30 different items. Why 100 over because they are the same items but just different fillings. Example, siew mai, prawns siew mai, chicken siew mai, cheese siew mai, pork siew mai blah blah blah.. It is only one type siew mai but say until like alot of items.

Taste. One work, HELL! Terrible to the max. Fried food, it is oily with black black substances, can tell it's been refried time and again. Reuse old and dirty oil. It taste really oily. Steam food like xiao long bao, zhu chang fen, the skin is as thick as the paper used in wrapped chicken. Fan Choy, size of a egg tart. They think I am a kid! Can still tell me not to order so much food as they could not prepare in time as there is too many customers. I looked around, WTF??? by then left only 04 customers please. And they already been eating for very long. Ask for chili and mayonise, it took 15 mins to come? WTH???

Buffet table, Like any other buffet style, a spread of food you can go pick up. This is bullshit. Table of 6 tray items, 3 are empty, 3 left of miserable balance only for about 2 to 3 person consumption each.

Do not order dessert please! I say again, DO NOT! the dessert are kept EXPOSED on the trolley. can even see fly flying around it. The chinese tea? Taste and smell like damp table cloth.

This is the best of the best! The waitress went to a newly entered customer's table, seeing them looking at the menu, instead of asking for their order or to set and wipe the table, the waitress ask them, 'Your table got no plates cutleries and tissues?' WTFFFFFFFF!!!????!!!! You can see there is no plates, you are supposed to set the tables for new customers.

I think you people out there better be prepared, dont be cheated by their advertisement. It is not worth that $19.90. Service and all is worst than a $5.90 worth of food promo. there is so much more to say, but I guess, you got to find out yourself.

Note: I do not even want to award a star rating but seems like the systems requires me to click at least one star rating for them.

Let me start off with one sentence: I have never been so pissed off by a restaurant before.

Me and my boyfriend bought a deal off a deal website for this dimsum buffet that was $19.90 nett per person and it claims to have over 100 types of dimsum for you to choose. Sounds good right? So we bought this deal for our anniversary.

Upon arrival, we noticed that the restaurant isn't really decorated properly. We thought it's alright, as its the food that matters. We went in and they just shoved us 2 menus that are specially created for the dimsum buffet. Let me tell you, the menu is not even properly created. There are no pictures or whatsoever, just all of the dishes typed out black and white on a A4 sized paper.

We went with high hopes because we are dimsum fanatics and when we saw the menu, our faces changed. It seemed like some of the items are only there to fill up the menu. Etc: Siew Mais they have the prawn, chicken, pork, crab types? Then hargow they spilt into premium and non premium. Spring rolls spilt into premium or non premium. Baos also.

So again, we let it go. Then we wanted to order and there was this China waitress that came to serve us. We asked her about the dishes and she gave us a black face telling us "I don't know about this dish you order and try la" in Chinese. HOW RUDE IS THAT?! So again, we just ordered because it was a happy day and we didn't want to ruin anything.

Guess what? She told us to not order so much because they won't be able to handle it. I was speechless. It's not called a dimsum buffet for nothing.

We ordered basic dimsum dishes like hargow, siew mai and a few deep fried dishes. The dimsum all tasted like they were frozen and then heated/deep fried. Honestly, my expectations for food is really, really low because dim sum from food republic can taste good to me. And honestly, the food is horrible. Because they have a few types of wanton on the menu, I asked the waitress which one is fried and she told me "I don't know you know" in a super rude tone.

Then, we ordered Xiao Long Baos. C'mon who can screw up this dish right? We were proven wrongly when our xiaolongbaos were served and immediately when we tried to pick it up it broke and the soup seeped all over the table. We asked the waitress for tissues and she just dumped it on our tables and we had to clean up ourselves.

They kept forgetting our orders and delivering the wrong food and the people around us were all getting angsty waiting. We gave up with the main dimsum dishes because they were simply horrible and we tried the desserts strawberry and mango mochi. We didn't even bother finishing it because seriously, the standard is very low.

This is by far the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. All of these are my honest opinions and feelings during and after the buffet and I'm not saying anything to tarnish their name. To be honest, halfway through the meal I nearly cried because I felt so cheated by the deal and angry with the waitress.

I really am pissed off with them for ruining my anniversary dinner with my boyfriend. Never, ever, EVER going back.

For my main, I had the beef brisket noodles, the soup of the noodles was really good, very tasty, the noodles is really chewy but does not stick to your teeth. The beef they used is very tender and tasty. Very satisfied with the hearty meal.

Their Xiao Long Bao thought very big, it wasnt as nice as compared to Din Tai Feng and Crystal Jade's. The skin was too thick and the meat werent juicy enough.

I love steamed custard buns too and would always order whenever i see it as there werent many restaurants that offers it. Yummy chopstick serves some great steamed custard buns. The Leaf-shape makes it so cute to eat. The dough was soft and good, but if only the custard could be more watery / juicy, with the custard oozing out.

The mango shrimp dumplings are worth a try too! something really special which i have never tried it anywhere else before. The dumplings are so huge and juicy! I somehow wish their items can be made in bite size for small-mouth women like me. So difficult to have to open my mouth big just to get a bite.

I ordered si-chuan style hot and spicy noodle. It doesnt taste as nice as my friend's jia jiang mian!
I personally feel that their noodle are not worth trying.

The pan fried gyoza are really good! Very juicy and flavourful meat! Must-try too! I think they offered fried or steamed gyoza too! So you could choose according to your liking.

Though the restaurant doesnt spend much on decorating the restaurant and from the outside, it doesnt look very welcoming, they do serve nice dim sum that is worth a try. Will definitely go back again for their dim sum!
