Heard from a friend that Ginza Bairin is an established outlet (started in 1927) based in Tokyo Ginza, so I was expecting that their specialty, Tonkatsu (breaded pork cutlet) to be somewhat tastier or at least on par than the ones from Tonkichi (Isetan Shaw) and Tampopo (Liang Court).

However, my taste buds went largely unsatisfied.

The deep fried Tonkatsu failed to retain the moisture and juiciness of the meat and it lacks the special sauce, that comes with sesame, to further enhance the flavor and aroma of Tonkatsu. Usually, lots of crispy cabbages are given to reduce its oilyness, but here only a tablespoon's worth of shredded cabbage are given.

Well given the price, I would rather stick to my favourite Tonkatsu choices in Tampopo and Tonkichi.
