Having a craving for frog claypot, I decided to order from the menu a Claypot Dried Chilli Frog and a bowl of plain rice to go along with it.

Whenever someone mentioned about frog legs we tend to think of only several places along Geylang Road that served delicious frog dishes.

While waiting for my order to arrive, I looked around and noticed a few photos of their signature dish and here's one which is just above where I sat. In-house hot plate minced meat beancurd.

The price for this claypot cost S$15.90++ with several pieces of meat from a whole frog. The frog meat was slightly overcooked with lots of dried chilli, generous amount of thinly sliced ginger and a very few pieces of lengthwise spring onion stalks. There were also a good amount of sliced big onions cooked with the sauce. I like the thickness of the fragrant gravy so much so that it goes well with the plain white rice. I also prefer to have more spring onion stalks to this hot plate.

After three scoops of the ingredients, I realized that the dried chilli combination was too hot for me. Fortunately, I also ordered a glass of cold barley drink and the coolness of the drink definitely came to my rescue.

I mentioned to the serving crew that the claypot was chilly hot. She told me that she will remember to check with the future orders from other customers and asked whether they prefer the frog claypot with less or more dried chilli.

This is a good point for her to take note and I think she has some good qualities of customer service.

My total bill rounded to S$21.65.

Expensive indeed for only one whole frog.
