Eighteen Chefs is a successful social enterprise in Singapore. It was the winner of the 2012 president’s challenge social enterprise award (social enterprise of the year). Chef Benny Se Teo has gone through alot to create this restaurant chain. Most young people like to dine in here as it provides nice food at affordable prices. It feels like a fast food restaurant with its bright coloured counter, where one orders and pays. Remember to help yourself to the sauces and cutlery at the side counter.
Aglio Olio with grilled chicken topped with mushroom sauce
The pasta is quite flavourful and tasty on its own. The grilled chicken is juicy , topped with a rather thin and crispy skin. Although it is stated as mushroom sauce on the menu, I could not find a slice of mushroom. The sauce is quite tasty with lots of minced garlic.
To make it a combo meal, topped up $3.80+ for a drink and a soup of the day at $3.80+.
For the drinks, there is a choice of soft drinks and ice lemon tea.
Overall food is not bad. Service is a bit uneven as it is more like no frills place.
