We went to Gaia Ristorante & Bar during the Singapore Restaurant Week, where Gaia offered a 5-courses dinner for only $55++. The restaurant generously gave diners a big bowl of assorted buns/bread sticks. I personally love the cheesy bread sticks and charcoal bun. We then started our meal with first appetizer, deep fried sardine and marinated in onion. Pretty ordinary taste, but with the greens and black raisin, I find it quite light and refreshing. Second appetizer was pan fried ham and ricotta
Second appetizer was pan fried ham and ricotta cheese timbale served with red radicchio chicory. This dish was a surprise! It has a nice chewy texture with well-balanced cheesy flavor. A plus!
Third course was homemade tagliatelle pasta with soft shell crab. The pasta looked pretty and the taste was not bad too, though I think it would be better if the soft shell crab is replaced by normal crab flesh. For mains, we could choose either slow oven-baked cod fish in milk, light garlic and fresh herbs served with corn cake, or braised chicken leg with tomato and mixed mushroom. The cod fish was the best dish of the night! The fat content was just nice, and it was cooked perfectly well. The presentation was gorgeous too! As for the braised chicken leg, the meat was so tender and tasted good. The dessert was Tiramisu. It was very moist, but I would prefer a more creamy one.
Overall speaking, Gaia is a restaurant that serves delicate good food. With classy interior and great ambiance, it's a good place to bring your date along.
