As a child, I always love eating jiu cheng gao (nine layer cake) as it has many colours and the best thing is that I can peel it off layer by layer. I find it fascinating as a child and now I still eat it, just to relieve the memories and also the great taste. Although what I eat as a child is those bought from the market, Bengawan Solo's ''Lapis Sagu" is reminiscent of that taste.
