The restaurant is quite crowded today, as it could be due to everyone coming to the area to view the national day preview's fireworks. The service is a bit slow as they look abit understaffed. Usually this outlet is one of least crowded during the weekends.Red Dates with Glutinous Rice ($4.50++)This is quite an interesting starter, as the glutinous rice is tasted like a tasteless paste, surrounded by sweet soft dates.Fried Rice with Pork Chop ($9.90++)This one of my favourite dishes in Din Tai F

This one of my favourite dishes in Din Tai Feng. The rice is round and pearly, different from the usual thai long grain rice, which makes a rather tasty fried rice. The pork chop is very tender and juicy. Steamed Crab Meat & Pork Dumplings ($9.00++/ 6pieces)
The filling is quite meaty and juicy but the skin is not well cooked. Steamed Chinese Style Layered Cakes ($3.30++)
I am quite disappointed with the cake. Firstly the layers are not well formed. The cake is quite plain in taste and not soft enough. It is a far cry from the ones which I have tasted in the restaurant in Taipei. Chilled Grass Jelly Topped with Sweet Black Glutinous Rice ($4.50++)
It is quite cooling and refreshing, but the serving is a bit small.
Overall the food standard is a far cry from the Taipei's outlet which I have tried before. The place is quite big and child friendly with areas to park prams. Children sized fork and spoon (which you could buy) for kids. Laundry bags to put your bags in. Not a bad place to visit with family. Hopefully the standard of food will be better.
