La Mian with Double Boiled Chicken Soup: I like to order Double Boiled Chicken Soup whenever I go to Chinese restaurants. The one at Din Tai Fung had quite a few big chicken pieces in the soup. The meat was really tender and came off the bones really easily even when using just chopsticks to pull the meat off. The soup itself was nice but still can have a stronger chicken essence flavour.

Prawn Paste Chicken Wings: This was good, the batter was thin and crispy. I could also taste the prawn paste.

Green Chilli Stuffed with Minced Pork: This dish didn't look appetizing at all due to the colour but it was yummy and I really liked it! This was nice with a subtle sweetness from the chilli and savouriness from the minced pork. The chilli wasn't spicy too.

Pickled Cucumber: I liked this cold dish too, the cucumbers were nice and crunchy and really refreshing. Great as an appetizer. Not too sure what's in the sauce but I really liked it too.

We had lunch at Din Tai Fung at MBS during weekend and its a long queue as always... We ordered fried shrimp with veggies dumpling and it was served hot and crispy. I really liked it a lot. Not too oily and its healthy even its fried. We also ordered the cold salad as a starter while waiting for the main dishes. Totally the food is served well and the ambiance is very good.

Fried Rice with Pork Chop ($9.90++)
This one of my favourite dishes in Din Tai Feng. The rice is round and pearly, different from the usual thai long grain rice, which makes a rather tasty fried rice. The pork chop is very tender and juicy.

Steamed Crab Meat & Pork Dumplings ($9.00++/ 6pieces)
The filling is quite meaty and juicy but the skin is not well cooked.

Steamed Chinese Style Layered Cakes ($3.30++)
I am quite disappointed with the cake. Firstly the layers are not well formed. The cake is quite plain in taste and not soft enough. It is a far cry from the ones which I have tasted in the restaurant in Taipei.

Chilled Grass Jelly Topped with Sweet Black Glutinous Rice ($4.50++)
It is quite cooling and refreshing, but the serving is a bit small.

Overall the food standard is a far cry from the Taipei's outlet which I have tried before. The place is quite big and child friendly with areas to park prams. Children sized fork and spoon (which you could buy) for kids. Laundry bags to put your bags in. Not a bad place to visit with family. Hopefully the standard of food will be better.

I still remember my first visit to Din Tai Fung. While window shopping, we passed a small groups of people waiting outside what looked like a slightly oversized coffee shop. Each group was holding a writing pad, which suspiciously looked like a cramped menu card. We were intrigued. Looking around, we saw a colourful menu board with photographs of loads of Asian dishes. While browsing through the menu we were surprised to see a small sign that said, “Top 10 best restaurants – New York Times”. Reading further we were in for another shock. The small cramped restaurant in the middle of the mall was in a fact Michelin Star restaurant. That was our introduction to Din Tai Fung.

finally their xiao long bao! it is one of their awesome creation. they have different xiao long bao available from the traditional ones to the creative ones.

however their service for this particular outlet is not that fantastic. we went in during tea time and it wasn't crowded. however the tea was served cold. when we requested for hot ones, the waitress simply told us to wait and she asked another waitress if it is true that we were served cold tea. so she merely wanted to top up to warm tea instead of changing to hot ones until we insisted on it.

Their service is very good despite it being so crowded, our tea is always being refilled constantly so thumbs up to that.

This is a fantastic restaurant and although they have several restaurants all over Singapore this one tends to have other items on the menu which aren't offered at the others. What is offered here are the hot dishes like chicken with chill and beef with onions amongst others. The most central and my favourite though is the one at Raffles City Shopping Centre. I guess for the location and the service. There is one at Paragon Shopping Centre which is situated on Orchard Road but I'm not that keen

A must from this menu would be the Xiao Long Bao, egg fried rice and also the noodles with mushrooms and also to be extravagant they even have dumpings with truffles. Just gorgeous!!!

This Chinese restaurant is always crowded with lots of people and long queues during lunch and dinner hours daily. I happen to visit this restaurant during a non peak hours, so I get to enjoy my foods at a more peaceful environment, if not the usual will be very noisy. Love their signature fried rice as it is very tasty and filled with generous amount of crunchy prawns, fragrant beaten eggs and chopped spring onions in it. Portion is just alright for per person.

We took away 10 pieces of xiao long bao which costs $10.45. We waited for around 20 minutes and got the xiao long bao fresh and hot;DThey even provided the ginger slice and the vinegar in separate small containers.Consumed it within 10 minutes and the xiao long bao was still warm and nice. I would say it was quite a small piece though, and the juice in it was not a lot but I like the overall taste of it.The skin was not too thick and the meat are fresh and sweet;D the small bite size enables me

The skin was not too thick and the meat are fresh and sweet;D the small bite size enables me put the whole xiao long bao into my mouth and savour it slowly…like heavenly^^

As a xiao long bao lover, I felt that the xiao long bao at din tai fung isn’t really wonderfully delicious, but there already was a standard that not many could achieve;D

The fried pork chop rice is mouth-watering. The pork chops are chewy and not fried till burnt. The pork chops are not too salty and are very tender. When eaten together with the fried rice, the flavours match so well together. Children would like this dish, as some children would only like fried food and not with rice. However, this dish will suit the children alot.

We had a pleasant time at Din Tai Fung. Service was fast and the servers were very polite. It was a good time there. The only thing that held heavily in our minds were that the food prices were not cheap. However, good stuff has its price. We ordered sharksfin soup which was fabulous and a few other dishes. The sharksfin soup is quite thick and the amount of egg and sharksfin were aplenty. So it tasted good.
