Largest High Tea Spread in Singapore!
Town Restaurant
2015-10-05
Town restaurant is a very big restaurant that offers very extensive buffet spread! Quality of food here were mostly quite good and Service was great as well. Nothing to complain actually. The prices are very reasonable for the buffet spread!Roasted Duck Open Sandwich: Delicious bite-size tender roasted duck sit on a crispy toast that u have to try!! Yummy!Wa Ku Kueh: Colourful and soft mini wa ku kueh, best to complement with the orange sugar! It's a refreshing jelly with a piece of apple and grape and very mild alcohol taste - Must-Try!!!There are too much food items to show here. For all photos, please visit:http://summerlovestoeat.blogspot.sg/2015/09/local-high-tea-buffet-at-town.html…Read More

STREET 50 Restaurant and Bar
2015-07-14
STREET 50 Restaurant & Bar serves hotpot on every Fri, Sat and Sun night too! What makes the hotpot here so special? The hotpot here is served up in individual pots with unique designs of little dragons blanket in a sharp shade of royal blue and royal yellow. The pot was quite shallow so the broth needs to be refilled regularly.Service was very good! Plates were cleared and ice-water were refilled promptly but do understand sometimes the service will be a bit slow when the place is crowded. The food selection was simple and nice. I must say so far this place has the best soup after trying at different popular steamboat restaurants! With Leeks, Cucumbers & Hoisin Sauce. I really love their smoked peking duck roll here, the sauce was generous and the smoked duck was very very tasty!! Besides the premium soup, I think this is another attraction to come here. This is their popular dessert here - Durian Pengat! (My Additional Ala Carte Order, Not Included In the Buffet) Luscious durian pulp cocooned in crepe laced with liquid gula Melaka. It was very creative and captivating to see durian pengat wrapped in crepe, with coconut flakes outside! Not forgetting the small little fruits aside, infused with some wine to enhance the fruit taste, super nice! How i wish they can put more fruits and wine....…Read More

Recommended Semi-Lunch Buffet with BEST City View!
LeVeL33
2015-07-14
LeVeL33 is the World's Highest Urban Craft-brewery restaurant, one can experience an exceptional dining experience complete with the best view of Singapore's Marina Bay and city skyline. The main course were quite good. The dessert buffet tasted decent but the selection was boring.. Hope to see some improvement in the dessert buffet!Weekday Semi-Lunch Buffet: $33++ per person. (Semi buffet of appetizers and desserts with a choice of Main Course ordered) Tempura of dory fillet, fat cut chips, crushed peas and sauce tartare. I like the super curved up shape of their fish & chips, very presentable! The tempura dory fillet was extremely tender inside and crispy outside but the overall taste was a tad bland . The fat cut chips was decent. This main course is very popular here!Salmon & cod potato cake, buttered spinach, lemon beurre blanc and tomato caraway relish. Did not expect this to taste good.. The salmon and cod was moist and tender on the inside, and crispy on the outside, complemented well with nice lemon sauce! For full review and photos, please visit:http://summerlovestoeat.blogspot.sg/2015/03/semi-lunch-buffet-at-level-33-8-marina.html…Read More

Steamboat Buffet-Yummy Lobster Soup!
Spice Brasserie
2015-04-22
Spice Brasserie has recently launched Nostalgic Steamboat buffet from March to 30th June 2015 as their kitchen is currently under renovation. This is also a good news for steamboat lovers - Enjoy Quality Steamboat Buffet at affordable prices + Cosy and Comfy Hotel Ambience + Good and Friendly Service from the Manager and Staff !The buffet will also feature an array of Teow Chew Porridge favourites and nostalgic local dishes from the 1950s as well as a plethora of desserts. We enjoyed dining at Spice Brasserie as the restaurant was very spacious with relaxing feel - The feeling is like having steamboat at home! We only pay $50 nett for the steamboat lunch buffet for 2 pax with credit card promotion which is very worth it! The seafood were very fresh, I like their fish fillet and wok-fried crayfish the most! As I'm a super dessert lover, so I have high expectations on dessert. Sad to say the quality of the dessert here did not impress me, they were mostly decent. Hope to see more improvements in their dessert next time. The seafood here were very fresh!Love their wok-fried crayfish, fresh and peppery! Yummy! For full review and photos, please visit:http://summerlovestoeat.blogspot.sg/2015/04/steamboat-lunch-buffet-at-spice.html …Read More

Quality Cuisine with Revolving Panoramic View!
Tong Le Private Dining
2015-04-06
There're only 2 revolving restaurants in Singapore. Tong Le Private Dining is one of only two restaurants in Singapore offering the fabulous dining experience in a revolving tower, diners could complete a panoramic tour of the Marina Bay area within two short hours.Something different about this restaurant - They don't serve ala carte menu. Their menu offers a variation of prefixed menus that changes every 2 weeks. This is good as the chances that you get to eat the same food items is very slim if you dine there a few times in a year.Braised Cave Bird's Nest with Bamboo Fungus, Crab Meat & Roe:The presentation was superb, with the soup served in a bowl atop a burner. This made the whole bowl look really big, indeed the serving of the soup was generous and that certainly improved my appetite! The soup was full of flavour with generous portions of the bird's nest in the middle! The burner kept the soup hot and bubbling throughout! Yummy!!!Braised Fragrant Rice with Fish Maw & Foie Gras accompanied with Pan-Seared Hokkaido Scallop:This is one of the best scallop I've ever had!! The exterior was crispy and the moment you bite into it, the burst of fragrance from the scallop fills your palette!!! I really don't know how to describe it anymore.. It's really fantastic scallop!! But the rice itself was so-so... couldn't really taste the foie gras anywhere... Overall this dish was saved by the twins. For full review and photos, please visit:http://summerlovestoeat.blogspot.sg/2015/03/set-dinner-at-tong-le-private-dining.html…Read More

Not Bad Food with Waterfront View
Privé @ Keppel Bay
2015-01-23
Privé is a multi-concept F&B lifestyle venue encompassing a Waterfront Bar, a Café and a modern Grill at Keppel Island. I'm here for the brunch at Prive Cafe. Prive cafe is a casual dining getaway and kids-friendly with indoor or outdoor seating.Eggs Royale: English muffin, smoked Norwegian salmon, poached eggs, Hollandaise sauce. This was an excellent Eggs Royale! The poached eggs were cooked to perfection, runny with very tasty smoked salmon and the hollandaise sauce was just nice. I've tried some places that the sauce was a little sour.. A Must-Order brekkie!Privé’s Ultimate Brekkie: 2 eggs (any style), I chose scrambled eggs. With a 6-inch chicken Frankfurter (Hotdog), maple-roasted bacon, roasted Roma tomato, sautéed button mushrooms, potato rosti and housemade wholemeal toast. I thought this was a little pricey for the quantity and quality. The scrambled eggs needs some improvements. It was a tad over-cooked, not melt-in-the mouth type. Overall this was a decent breakfast...For full review and photos, please visit:http://summerlovestoeat.blogspot.sg/2015/01/brunch-at-prive-cafe-2-keppel-bay-vista.html…Read More

Awesome Food with No Service Charge!
Medzs
2015-01-23
Medzs - Famous for their Signature Rainbow Cake, is a popular casual dining Mediterranean Restaurant. They have the similar dining concept as Marche but I think their food quality was so much better than Marche. They offer massive range of cuisines from places like Spain, Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey, France, Italy, Greece and Asia... (Note: Asia Cuisine is only available at the Millenia Walk outlet)Grilled Sea Bass Fillet: Though it's charcoal grilled, the sea bass was still quite tender and nice with the yummy mashed potato.Pan Fried Pacific Dory Fish: Served with Thyme & Garlic, Green Leaves Salad, Mashed Potato, Braised Aurbergine & Tomato Concasse. This is a Must-Order item! The spices on the exterior were very very flavourful, aromatic and addictive! I love dory fish as they're always very tender. So tender fish with fantastic spices = Shiok! Not forgetting the great mashed potato too! Excellent Dish!Rosti with Smoked Salmon: The exterior of the rosti were all very crispy and soft on the inside, complemented very well with the tasty smoked salmon! Must-Order too!For full review and photos, please visit:http://summerlovestoeat.blogspot.sg/2015/01/medzs-at-orchard-central-181-orchard.html…Read More

Medzs

Chicken & Bacon Skewer: The chicken & bacon goes very well with each other and it's full of flavour!!! Definitely will excite your tastebuds! Must Try!Bouncy Benedict: I like the name that they created for this dish - Bouncy Benedict, instead of the usual boring names (Eggs Benedict). Omg this was the BEST brunch that I had in my life! Every single item here was perfect, except the rosti potato was a little too salty that day. The runny yolk inside the egg, their hollandaise sauce and their home-cured salmon were all melted in the mouth. It was nicely served on a Pizza board.. Highly Recommended Brunch! For full review and photos, please visit: http://summerlovestoeat.blogspot.sg/2015/01/medzs-at-milenia-walk-millenia-walk-9.html…Read More

Good Quality Food at Affordable Prices!
21 on Rajah
2015-01-13
21 on Rajah is Singapore Halal Certified by Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura (MUIS) and therefore, they do not serve pork, lard or alcoholic beverages. They offer daily buffets and an a la carte menu featuring Mediterranean and local flavours at affordable prices. We were here for their New Year Eve Dinner Buffet on 31st Dec 2014.Rock Salted Whole Salmon - I would like to highly recommend this big Salmon. I've tried many in different 5-star hotels, the meat was usually tough or slightly tender. But I'm surprised to find this super tender salmon that melts in the mouth at 21 on Rajah! Thumbs Up!Slipper Lobster “Singapore Chili Crab Style With Bun - This was the main dish of the night! The chili crab sauce was robust with succulent slipper lobster meat, perfect to dip the sauce with the buns provided! Yummy Yummy!!!This is from 1 of their Ala-Carte Menu: Slow-Baked Norwegian SalmonThis was the BEST cooked Salmon that you must order! It's not easy to cook a perfect salmon, it's usually over-cooked or totally tough. But look at the photo above, the salmon was cooked to perfection - Super Tender, definitely melts in your mouth!!!The chef controlled and monitored the temperature very well. 2 words to describe this dish "Perfect" & "Awesome!" And not forgetting the Buttered Mashed Potato & Mustard Sauce provided, it's heavenly matched with the Salmon together. Thumbs Up for this Great Main Course! We were here for 3 times (Tried their Ala Carte menu, Normal Day Buffet, as well as the recent New Year Eve Dinner Buffet). To be honest, there wasn't any disappointment at all during the 3 visits. The food quality was quite constant. Most of the food were between average to above average, probably only 1 or 2 was below average. Desserts were decent - Need to improve..Overall, we enjoyed the food here very much! Good quality food in a spacious and vibrant restaurant at affordable prices! (Don't expect wide variety of food here at such prices) The service from the young servers were average, but the service from the manager was top notched! For full review and photos, please visit:http://summerlovestoeat.blogspot.sg/2015/01/new-year-eve-dinner-buffet-at-21-on.html…Read More

The Tallest + BEST Fine Dining Restaurant!
JAAN by Kirk Westaway
2014-12-24
Jaan is an intimate, 40-seat restaurant dedicated to showcasing the finest in modern French cuisine in Singapore.55′ Rosemary Smoked Organic Egg - This was one of the most memorable dishes! The staff will pour the sous vide egg onto ratte potato espuma topped with chorizo iberico and crispy buckwheat. This was served in a little orb capped on top of some smoked rosemary. You could smell the waft of rosemary emanating through the gap... Wow, so much though must have been put in just for the presentation alone! The smoked organic egg was poached slowly for 55 minutes at 64 degrees celcius. The results were runny with silky texture... This was really too delicious!!!Choconuts Tart - The staff will add the chocolate espuma at the table, so that the foam doesn't go flat by the time it reaches us. Using tempered chocolate with different textures, served at different temperature here! Some chocolate was warm while some was cold, very innovative! Not forgetting the crumbly and buttery chocolate tart as well - A very unique chocolate dessert experience at Jaan!Mignardises (Petit Fours Platter) - This is the most impressive petit fours that I've seen! The platter consists of Rosemary scent of chocolate ice-cream lollipop, canelé and coconut marshmallow! A canelé is a small French pastry with a soft and tender custard center and a dark, thick caramelized crust. I personally love the chocolate lollipop and coconut marshmallow very much!!For full review and photos, please visit:http://summerlovestoeat.blogspot.sg/2014/12/degustation-lunch-at-jaan-level-70.html…Read More

Nice Weekend Dim Sum Brunch Buffet!
Yan Ting
2014-12-24
Yan Ting (A Cantonese Fine Dining Restaurant) presents a Weekend Dim Sum Brunch Buffet that showcases its award-winning signature dishes. (Only on Saturday, Sunday & Public Holidays)One Serving of Double-boiled Chicken Soup with Abalone - Wow this soup was full of flavor with tender abalone & mushroom, tasty dried scallop, some chicken meat and wolfberries! Yummy Soup! One Portion of Wok-baked Lobster with Superior Stock - I came here because of this lobster! Haha.. The wok-baked lobster meat was very succulent!!! But the portion was quite small with not much meat.. The superior stock was very tasty but was given too little on it, wish that they can serve with more superior stock.Braised Fish Maw and Beancurd Broth - You have to order this! Very very thick & tasty broth with tender fish maw and silken beancurd! Wish i had more stomach space for 1 more bowl..For full review and photos, please visit:http://summerlovestoeat.blogspot.sg/2014/11/weekend-dim-sum-brunch-buffet-at-yan_7.html…Read More

Delightful Italian Buffet!
Pontini
2014-12-24
Pontini is an Italian restaurant helmed by head chef Daniele Sarno, serving authentic Italian cuisine with a modern twist. This brand new Italian buffet by Chef Daniele, features a plethora of antipasti, breads, soup, main courses and desserts from various regions in Italy. For this buffet, you get to choose ONE main course per person. Other than the main course, everything else is "unlimited" servings.Service here was really good! The food and dessert quality was quite good, except the pizza and Tiramisu needs improvement.Roasted Barramundi Fish Fillet, Pumpkin & Sage Mash, Snow Peas Salad & Grain Mustard Sauce - My favourite dish! The meat was tender, the skin was crisp, and the natural taste of the fish was well brought out. A pity I feel that the pumpkin didn't really complement the fish that well. But that's just my own preference... Pumpkin lovers will still like this combination nonetheless. The pasta was excellent! For our choice of tagliatelle with mushroom and black truffle pesto, the pasta was the perfect consistency, and the chunky mushrooms were full of flavour, all emanating the wonderful smell of truffles! Pasta portions are not big so you can choose a second variety if tummy space allows.Dessert Crepe - Chocolate chip filling inside with strawberry and almond topping... and more chocolate drizzled on top... Love it!For full review and photos, please visit:http://summerlovestoeat.blogspot.sg/2014/11/italian-buffet-at-pontini-392-havelock.html…Read More

1 of the BEST Cafe Food!
November8 Coffee & Company
2014-12-24
November 8 is a hipster cafe hidden in Thomson V Two Condominium building.I'm not sure about weekdays but during the weekends & public holidays, this cafe is always crowded and noisy within 30mins after they opened at 12pm. Do quickly place your order once you're seated as the waiting time for the food is around 30mins time! Their food & waffle quality were indeed 1 of the BEST among the cafes! So we gotta be a little more patient to wait for the nice food...Big Breakfast - Bacon, Gourmet Pork Sausage, Gourmet York Ham, Honey Ham, Tomato, Sautéed Mushroom & Roasted Potato served on Focaccia Bread with Scrambled Eggs.I must say all the combination here were great! Scrambled eggs were cooked to almost perfection (melted in the mouth) except it tasted a tad bland. Pork sausage was very peppery - I like! Focaccia Bread was soft & the rest of the items were very nice too. Nothing much to complain. A very filling & delightful breakfast!Thai Iced Tea Waffle - Waffle with Thai Iced Tea Gelato ice cream & homemade Gula Meleka Sauce. I'm not really a waffle fan but I must say - Wow, i was really impressed with their waffle when i had my first bite on it! It was slightly crisp at the outside but fluffy inside with very aromatic gula melaka sauce and icing sugar on it! As for the Thai Iced Tea ice-cream, we were a tad disappointed as it did not have any robust taste, the taste of the iced tea was too mild...There is No GST and No Service Charge! For full review and photos, please visit:http://summerlovestoeat.blogspot.sg/2014/11/november-8-coffee-company-11-sin-ming.html…Read More

Adequate Food during Restaurant Week
The Royal Mail
2014-12-24
We were here during the restaurant week. Overall the food and dessert here were decent, nothing to rave about. Service was good from the reception staff but not the server staff. If you just want to find a slightly better restaurant with adequate food at Raffles Place area, you can consider this place. So far I only enjoyed this starter the most: Pan-Seared ScallopsLove their scallops so much - Succulent and Crisp at the top!Pan-Seared Foie Gras - We thought the size of the foie gras will be something like the scallops above. So we were really amazed by the generous portion of foie gras given. Probably it's a little too much and too rich, so we gotta share the portion with each other.. Overall it was mediocre.Pan Seared Salmon - The salmon was cooked to perfection, very tender and the skin was crisp enough!Roasted Chicken Breast -  Was expecting the meat to be tough but surprisingly it was quite tender. But the taste was quite bland, somehow this dish was unremarkable. For full review and photos, please visit:http://summerlovestoeat.blogspot.sg/2014/11/restaurant-week-lunch-at-royal-mail.html…Read More

Jiang-Nan Chun Restaurant

Doubled-boiled Abalone Soup with Chicken & Ginseng Flower - Omg all the goodness can be found in this soup! Full-flavoured and the abalone was very tender too! The chicken was a tad tough so just focus on the abalone & the soup, 1 word to describe - Excellent Soup!Braised Hashima with Shredded Fish Maw, Dried Scallops & Golden Mushroom - This soup was a tad pale in comparison with the above abalone soup (Perhaps the abalone soup was too good) The broth was quite thick, tasty and full of ingredients. I think you will find this soup nice if you have not try their abalone soup.Stir-Fried Scallops with Savoury Sauce - The scallops were succulent and complemented well with the savoury sauce!Deep-Fried Grouper Fillet with Cereal - We usually had cereal with prawn or beancurd. So this is our first time having fish fillet with cereal. The combination was not bad, fillet was quite tender as well!Overall this place is definitely worth a visit as the ambience was very relaxing and the food quality was quite high except some areas need to improve on. And it's very rare to see chinese restaurant serves free flow of selected fruit juices for weekend brunch buffet.. A plus point to attract people as it's really nice to have buffet with fruit juices! For full review and photos, please visit:http://summerlovestoeat.blogspot.sg/2014/09/oriental-weekend-brunch-buffet-at-jiang.html…Read More
