Categories : Chinese | Food Court

This store is located just next to lao ban soyabean, they sell a lot of traditional kueh, was walking pass then saw this little pig shape mooncake biscuit so bought it. Other shops are selling 3 for $2, but this store selling 4 for $2. They also have small mini mooncake with different flavours. So we bought to try ,it was not bad, the auntie boss was friendly, loads of choice to choose from, price not expensive, worth to give it a try.

Not too bad OK Nov 05, 2012

First look - Yes, it does not look appetizing and the cereals are too little ! The prawn is a little bit overcooked thus to the dry side :X.

Chicken - Good ! Tender and soft smile . The gravy however, i does not recommend to have too much of it as it is oily and may be packed with the saturated fats present in chicken itself smile.

Black fungus and prawn. This time round, the prawn is a little bit under cook but edible. The fungus is adequate as well smile.

Fish - one word, fresh and it looks "beautiful". Well done steamed smile.

Fanciful? Yes, this is the side and first dish smile. I like it as there are fried food and fruits . The broccoli is healthy with baby scallops. The ribs are well flavored too ! - sweet . Eggs ? Normal scrambled eggs you can find anywhere ~.

Satay bee hoon OK Jul 31, 2012
Categories : Singaporean | Hawker Centre

This was my first time spotted pig's liver amongst the ingredients for satay bee hoon. It has stated on their signboard to be Teochew Satay Bee Hoon so i guess this must be the Teochew style of serving it. The stall is manned by a Teochew speaking elderly lady all by herself. She was quick and attentive when she spotted me. She cooked the bee hoon and the ingredients then poured the satay gravy over it. The texture of bee hoon was cooked nicely. It came with ingredients like pig's liver, cockles, cuttlefish, tau pok, bean sprouts and kang kong. The satay gravy has got a nice peanut taste and rather thick in texture.

Song Kee Fishball Noodle - Upper Thomson Road

Being one of the top fishball noodle stall in Singapore, Song Kee fishball noodle is well liked by both the old and young for its handmade fishballs. It is popular among the supper crowd as well as it opens till late night about 2pm or till the fishballs are sold out. Queue starts at around 630pm before it open for business at 7pm.

Queue up to make your order

Mee Pok Dry ($6 big) - The big portion includes 3 large fishballs, 3 dumplings and 2 stuffed tau pok. All the ingredients are handmade fresh daily. You get to choose whether to add ketchup or chili sauce. I like all 3 ingredients especially the dumpling which was thinly wrapped with a unique flavoured pork and mushroom mixture. The tau pok was stuffed with an adequate amount of fish paste as well. Mee pok noodle was good as well without yellow noodle aftertaste.

Mee Tai Bak Dry ($4 small) - 3 fishballs, 1 dumpling and 1 tau pok

Home-made dumpling filled with minced pork and mushroom, tasty and delicious.

Hand-made fishball taste nice as well. The fishball is more firm compared to those machine made and you are able to taste the sweetness of the fishball itself.

Clear soup filled with fishball taste

Do drop by for your bowl of satisfying fishball noodle if you are at Upper Serangoon region.

Verdict: 3.5/5

Price: $4 - $6

I have my bowl of mee pok, which my girlfriend are having most of the times. Therefore, she'll try mee kia this time. Although the noodle is springy and the fish ball is excellent, you are expect to wait for at least half an hour or more.

Conclusion: Very good food and value for money.
