Juicy and tender chicken. Smile Jul 04, 2011

I gotta agree Boon Tong Kee served one of the better white chicken in Singapore. The chicken was tender yet juicy just exactly how i liked it. Sometimes, it made a good choice to take away for dinner at home particularly for those days that you are not into too much of carbohydrate. I do like how they packed those chicken for take away, it was nicely placed on a pink disposable tray with a cover that got a little handle.

The best way to eat such delicious chicken is to dip them into chilli and sweet dark sauce. Both of the sauces were of the good quality.

Recommended.

Boyfriend's favourite chicken rice restaurant.
But I would say, the serving of the chicken and rice is getting smaller.
However, it still taste as good!
Service is average.

If you love tender white chicken, try Boon Tong Kee.
If you love fragrant chicken rice, try Boon Tong Kee.
If you love chicken rice's chilli sauce, try Boon Tong Kee.
If you love hor fun, Boon Tong Kee's seafood horfun is my favourite! (serves 2)
If you love smooth porridge, try Boon Tong Kee's porridge instead of the rice smile
If you love salad fried dough (you tiao in chinese), order this when you are there with their special mayonnaise.

This Western Food Stall in the Food Junction at Nex Mall has a good variety of dishes on its menu. It also has some attractive set meals as well.

We tried the Al Funghi spaghetti set and the Lamb Chops set.
Both sets were upgraded to include an extra Cream of Mushroom soup and garlic bread for an extra $1.50 each.
The upgraded Al Funghi set came with a free side - I chose mashed potato.
The Lamb Chops came with a choice of two sides - in this case, salad and mashed potato.
There was also a choice of gravy - black pepper sauce in this case.

The spaghetti was average - it was a little too creamy and cheesy.
The mushroom pieces were cooked just right, but, somehow, something was missing from the taste. The homemade Cream of Mushroom soup was good! It was not too creamy and contained many tiny chunks of diced mushroom. The flavour was great and the mushroom soup deserved the thumbs up! However, the garlic toast that came with the soup was quite the opposite! It was too soft and too bland in taste.

The Lamb Chops were okay. They were well done - just as we had asked - but the marination was not as perfect. The black pepper gravy added to the taste, but only just.
The mint lime dip on the side was just ok, mainly because the mint flavour was deeply weakened by the lime. The mint should have been stronger, and this would have gone very well with the lamb.

Mashed potato is always my favourite, but this free portion was a bit too much.
After eating half of it, I had to stop. The gravy was little too thick and the mashed potato was too soft.

The Food Junction needs some sprucing up to provide a more conducive environment for dining.

Overall it was good value for money, but tastewise, it could have been better.
Perhaps the next time I will avoid the mashed potato and try some other dish on the menu.

This time round I ordered the Fish fillet spaghetti with tomato sauce. It has a generous serving of 3 pieces of fried breaded fish fillets with tartar sauce on top of tomato spaghetti. The spaghetti was done al dente...very springy. The thick and creamy tomato sauce had a lot of garlic in it...I'm a garlic lover so the sauce was very tasty.

Nice pasta at Food court Smile May 13, 2013

This place sells pretty good pasta dishes, all done al dente and with generous sauce and toppings. The price tag is on the high side considering this is a Food court stall. The Grill chicken spaghetti in pomodoro sauce ($7.20) is my fave smile Spaghetti is cooked in thick tomato sauce with a rather big piece of grill chicken chop. Taste wise is quite good too. For every order of main dish, you can top up $1.50 for soup of the day and garlic toast. Takeaways has a 30cents surcharge.
