My colleague suggested having Subway for lunch since we had some light bites during the meeting an hour ago. As we are not feeling too hungry, I decided to share a footer with my colleague since we both wanted the same sandwich which is the turkey sandwich. The spaces at Subway are quite limited so we took away our orders back to office to eat. The vegetables added to the sandwich is quite evenly spread out as I could taste all the vegetables. I love the freshness of the vegetables against the turkey meat. The overall taste is great and I enjoyed my sandwich a lot. The server for that day seemed to be quite generous with the vegetables as I mentioned I wanted more of tomatoes and he really added quite a lot to our sandwich. Moreover, he is also quite obliging when we requested for difference sauces on different halves of the footer sandwich as I prefered the mayo sauce while my colleague wanted another sauce. It is such good service that will make me go back to the store again.

We went for lunch at Soup Restaurant as we missed their signature chicken dish. Soup Restaurant is one of our favorite chinese restaurants and we will visit it at least 4 times a year just to savour their chicken. We went on a weekday so the service was especially attentive since there is not much of a crowd in the restaurant. We ordered their signature samsui chicken, the large portion which costs $30.90 and a serving of vegetables. The chicken is certainly the star of the meal for me. The chicken meat is always very tender and the sauce of ginger in the middle of the dish is what makes the chicken especially tasty. The chicken skin is also tasty as it is not too fatty and everything when eaten as a whole is just divine. The large portion is large enough for 5 people but for die-heart fans of the chicken like me, I would think I will be able to easily polish the plate off with just another 1 or 2 person!

I was looking around for some light bites to bring back to office as my lunch was not very filling. I saw this popiah stall from where I was sitting so I decided to buy it instead of looking around for other good. Each popiah roll costs $1.50 which is pricier than other popiahs around which are selling at $1.20. I got two rolls of popiah and requested for chilli for one roll. The popiah seems a little larger than the normal ones though so perhaps that it why it is more expensive. However, I still think it is overpriced as the main ingredient, the turnips are quite little. Also, I find the popiah to be a little too dry and the popiah skin is also quite hard to chew. In terms of taste, the popiah is also not fantastic - it is too salty for my liking. I don't think I will buy from them again as the high price is not justified by the taste.

It had been raining for the whole morning and it was quite cool in the afternoon. I decided to order a bowl of yong tau foo since the soupy yong tau foo will help to warm the stomach. Each yong tau foo item costs $0.40. I ordered a total of 7 items and got noodles to go along with my yong tau foo. The soup is cooked with yellow beans which made it very delicious and the best thing is that the soup does not make me thirsty after drinking it. The yong tau foo can be a bit bland since it is cooked in soup and I got most of the non-fried items. However, they have chilli and sweet sauce for dipping which will help to enhance the taste of the yong tau foo. I love it that the food is fresh tasting and they are also generous with the fish paste in the yong tau foo items. It is a stall which I can forsee myself coming back in future.

I ordered a Personal Pan Hawaiian pizza for takeaway. I havent had Pizza Hut for close to 2-3 years and I was quite apprehensive about the taste as I did not patronise them because I found their ingredients to be very little. What made me buy from it this time was because I had a pizza craving and it was the only pizza outlet. The personal pan pizza crust is thick, crisp on the outside and spongy on the inside. It was a little greasy but not too overly so. The ingredients are adequate, the pineapples are surprisingly sweet and juicy and the mixture of cheese, ham and pinapple made it savoury and sweet all together. It is quite nice and I may just consider buying more often from them again.
