Best Steak Ever! Smile Apr 18, 2013

Categories : American | Bars/Lounges | Hotel | Seafood | Steaks and Grills

I was lucky enough to have a Morton's steak for lunch. And my god, it still is the best steak I've ever tasted in my life. I had the rib eye steak, medium rare. The chef said that this doneness is the recommended one for steaks for it brings out the full flavour and tenderness.

Anyway, I saw how it was prepared. The chef just added a special powdered mix to both sides of the steak. Then, he grilled it for about 7 minutes for both sides before he served it to me. There wasn't any sauce for the steak was already good on its own.

The meat was very tender and juicy. The fat was also the bomb, it was very flavourful and even though eating this part made me feel guilty, I just couldn't stop...

For one ribeeye steak, it was $102++. Quite expensive, huh? But to tell you the truth, it was worth it.

Average Ramen OK Apr 15, 2013

Categories : Japanese | Ramen

And my ramen phase continues.

After dance class on Sunday, my friend and I were looking for a place where we can have our lunch. And of course, my suggestion was to go to a Ramen restaurant since it was raining and we could use some hot soup to warm our stomach.

From Bras Basah, we walked to Raffles City. And upon entering, Menya Musashi had no queue outside! I had always walked past this resto but there was always a long queue so I never really got to try it... until yesterday.

My order was the White Ramen ($12.90-- I think). My ramen was served quite fast. I tried the soup, it was good. Though, I would have preferred it to be really hot and not just warm. The noodles weren't al dente, they were a bit soft to my liking. However, the char siew was really meaty, tender, and good! I saved it for last so it would get soaked in the broth. Good!

Must Try: Beef Pepper Sliders! Smile Apr 05, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : English | Café | Brunch

Feeling slightly inebriated from this restaurant and bar launch (it was all drinks and few finger foods!), I walked to the nearest restaurant which seemed good. Thank god I saw Keong Saik Snacks. I've been to this place before, since it was recommended by my friend but I didnt enjoy it that much.

For my second time, I tried the Beef Pepper Sliders ($21). OMG! It was soo good! the beef patty was slightly raw but it was meaty, thick, and full of flavour. It was served with french fries and mayonnaise. I will definitely come back specifically for this dish again!

Good Drinks Selection OK Apr 05, 2013

Categories : Spanish | Japanese | Bars/Lounges

When I first entered this place, the first thing that struck me was how contemporary the interior feels, yet it still gives that old school Japanese feel. The resto and bar also has a wide variety of alcoholic drinks in their bar-- Japanese sake, wine, beer, and all the other liquers you can think of.

Since I came here for the event, I was lucky enough to enjoy the free flow of drinks. I asked the bartender what he could recommend and I was impressed that he knew his drinks well. I settled for the vodka sprite since this seemed to be the lighter drink. There were a lot of people but the bartender managed to serve us our drinks quite fast.

As for the finger foods, they had Japanese dumplings, skewered fresh veggies, asparagus wrapped in duck, and other things which didn't reach my table. Yeah, there were a lot of people that night and the food wasn't really enough. I like the asparagus with duck because the duck didn't have a strong taste.

Sweet! OK Mar 27, 2013
Categories : Café

After a heavy brunch at this restaurant in Bugis+, I was craving for something sweet... aka DESSERT! So I headed to J.Co since it had been a while since I got to try their donuts and coffee.

I ordered the chocolate donut with the crispy cornflakes on top. To go with that, I had the cafe latte. The donut was gone in 30 seconds for it was sweet.... and it was GOOD! i love it. Haha

The coffee, though, was too sweet for my liking. I prefer it to be a bit bitter so that it would go well with my donut.
