Second Visit Smile Feb 21, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : American | Restaurant | Pasta

Second time visiting Manhattan Pizza Co and as with our first visit, we were pleased with our pizza choice. I ordered a Meat Lover ($6.20/slice) which was topped with generous servings of pepperoni, ground beef, diced chicken, ham slices and parmesan cheese! The ingredients were fresh and blended well with the crusty base.

Personally, I preferred the overall taste of Regina (my pizza choice during our first visit) but found Meat Lover rather satisfying.

The dinner crowd was significantly lesser than lunch crowd and is definitely a great hang out place to simply chill and chat! For the reader’s info, we actually stayed from 6.30pm all the way to their closing time.

We utilized yet another deal voucher (this time round it’s $20 for $40 worth of food) which made this dining experience more the merrier and value for money! For the quality and portion, it is still worth the full cost lol

Authentic Italian Seafood Cuisine Smile Jan 20, 2013

Was around the area for a massage and decided to try out Casa Roma for dinner. We were glad we didlol
Ambience

Ambience

The ambience reflects a homely Italian set-up and was quite cosy. The waiters politely ushered us to a corner seat and promptly served us some warm bread and butter. Strange they didn’t serve it with olive oil, but nevertheless, we wolfed down the bread in no time as we were famished.

Our main courses were served shortly – Zuppa di Pesce ($24.50+) and Linguine al Cartoccio ($22.50+).

Zuppa di Pesce is a tomato based seafood soup with generous servings of mussels, scallops, prawns, squid, clams and fish. The rich tomato soup base coupled with an assortment of fresh seafood was a delight to savour. The generous chunks of tomatoes hidden underneath the plethora of seafood were a pleasant surprise and we found this to be a very satisfying dish. The taste was rich and yet not overwhelming. And to top it off, add a dash of freshly grounded black pepper to give it an extra zest! Simply delizioso!

Linguine al Cartoccio is tomato based seafood pasta topped with scallops, squid, mussels and prawns. The pasta was wrapped in aluminum foil and exuded a light aromatic hint of basil upon unrevealing the jewel. Like fine wine, the pasta tasted better with each subsequent mouthful as the linguine soaked up every bit of essence from the sauce; a far cry from the initial bite that was blend and dry.

In all, we had an authentic Italian seafood dinner that was not only delectable, but a memory to be relished and savoured.

Sweet Temptations… Smile Dec 15, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Bakery | Desserts and Cakes

This is the time of year again – of celebrations, good tidings, feasts, and log cakes! The simple, yet elegant design of Emicake’s White Christmas Glamour Tiramisu Log Cake was truly “pick-me-up” in the literal sense.

The velvety smooth fusion of cream cheese and fine coffee blended harmoniously together, creating a light yet flavourful touch. The moist texture of the vanilla chiffon cake melted on my taste buds, leaving a bitter-sweet aftertaste that left me wanting for more.

The only flaw to an otherwise impeccable cake was the amount of cream which I found was too much for my palate to handle.

Overall, savoring the cake was a splendid delight, indeed a sweet prelude to the yuletide season!

Value for money lunch option Smile Dec 25, 2014
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Roasted Meat

A relatively quiet outlet perfect for a lazy afternoon lunch. The set lunches were decent and very value for money. Each diner was also served their signature corn muffin which was warm and moist.

Lunch Salad ($10++)
They were very generous with their roasted chicken toppings and the overall portion was quite filling. A healthy and nutritious lunch option especially for the ladies. The set comes with a glass of drink as well.

Lunch Quarter Chicken Set ($16++)
The quarter chicken set comes with 2 choices of sides/soup and a glass of drink. Their chicken never fails to impress me with its succulent and juicy texture. As for the sides, I chose mac & cheese and soup of the day which were quite tasty too.

Heavenly Sashimi Smile Dec 25, 2014
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi

We were in a mood for quality sashimi and I'm glad Tomi Sushi didn’t disappoint us.

Sashimi Mori ($60++)
There were a total of six varieties and I must say all were equally fresh and succulent. Just look at the translucent texture of the sashimi slices tempting your tastebuds, how could anyone resist that? My favourite was the scallops which were exceptionally sweet and mouthwatering.

Chawanmushi ($6++)
Their Chawanmushi was pretty smooth and flavourful as well. A nice complement to the sashimi platter we had!
