My Favourite Duck Noodles Smile Mar 06, 2014
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Singaporean | Chinese | Hawker Centre | Noodles | Rice

The Duck Stall at Redhill Market is my favourite hawker food. Whatever I pass this stall for meal, the food is always finished. Today I came exceptional early to beat the finishing line.

I was happy that I could get a bowl of duck dry noodle. It was not oily and the meat was substantially generous for a bowl of $2.50. The meat portion was greatly to be visible. There was no vegetable but the sauce used was sufficient to make the bowl of noodle moist. The meat was tender.

What I ask for extra soup, the owner was very happy that there was a secret admirer enjoying the soup. The soup was not made of herbal but it will not make my feel thirsty after drinking.

The ducks are sold out by 1 pm.

Mr Bean cookie OK Jan 25, 2014

I bought a tin of Mr Bean Almond cookie. It costs $13.90. The cookie is packed in sealed plastic and is covered with a plastic cover. This is to prevent from turning rancid.

The cookie is the size of 20 cents coin. Its texture is soft and has smell of soya bean. The cookie is light weight.

Smooth Bean Curd Smile Jan 13, 2014
Categories : Desserts and Cakes

I visited 51 Soya Bean at 313@Somerset and bought 2 bowls of soya bean curd. The 2 flavours which I bought were almond and the original flavors. I couldn’t distinguish between the 2 as they were like identical. The only difference is the aroma. The almond came with almond flavor while the original was the actual bean curd.

Both bean curd were soft and smooth. There is little syrup added and each bowl costs $1.50.
For the price of $1.50, 51 Soya Bean offers reasonable and honest price. The bean curd are made on the spot so they are fresh. I like the almond bean curd as the aroma was not strong yet pleasant. For those who do not like almond, the almond will be acceptable to them.

I had Ikea curry puff not no long ago and decided to compare the curry puff with Old Chang Kee. I purchased the Curry O from Ion Orchard at $1.40. The store is a small and it is an-conditioned unlikely others which is open space. The store is not easy to locate. One thing for sure, the turnover is fast partially it is dinner so people grasp snack during this hour.

The length of the puff is 10 cm with thickness of 2 cm. The filling can be seen is filled with potatotes, somehow I did not get to eat any chicken meat? Wonder where has the chicken meat gone to. One guarantee ingredient is a quarter slice egg.

Generally for a $1.40 curry puff comes wit a quarter slice egg can fill a small eater as meal. But for a big eater, it will be a starter only.

Won a $50 food voucher from Red House Seafood and only restricted meal at robertson Quay. What to order for 2 persons is not easy and keeping to the limit of $50. I went through the menu and to order fried rice costs $14 and it is too easy to exhaust the $50 voucher.

To maximise the $50 and able to enjoy the most dishes, I ordered Yu Tian $8, Beef Fillet $16, Thai Chicken $14, add 2 bowls of plain rice at $1/each. Together with the tea/water/towel amounted to $3.80 and the final bill added to $51.30. This means we pay $1.30.

The place is cosy as it is near to the riverside. The restaurant gets crowded towards the later evening. The waitress is proactive to clear the plate

The dishes are tasty, not oily not for the Yu Tiao.
