Tsukada Nojo 美人锅 OK Sep 16, 2014
Categories : Japanese | Sukiyaki/Shabu Shabu

Ling intro-ed us to 美人锅 and we met up for an impromtu dinner!

It serves only hotpot for dinner. 'Reservation' starts after 5pm, and you have to be down physically at the restaurant to place your name on the waiting list.

Waiting list is usually full before 6pm I heard! shocked Such a hot pot (lousy pun, but intended) indeed!

Guess what is so special about it?

COLLAGEN soup base!

No prize for guessing why it is so popoular then, especially among the ladies smile

We watched the process of preparing the hot pot over and over again while waiting for our seats. Must have seen for over 10 times :'(

The set if priced at $25 per pax, minimum 2 persons.

And these are what you'll get! So scrumptious!

The broth is made from chicken bones, boiled for 8 hours until they dissolved and solidified/kept like jellies below:

Looking like beancurd!

These pudding-like solidified soup/collagen are melted to reveal chicken pieces and serves as a tasty soup base.

Golden Jidori soup.

We drank it in the sake cups provided before any other ingredients were added into the pot.

The soup is thick, yet not too overwhelming.

Slightly saltish for me, but with every mouth I took, it feels like my skin is getting more springy and elastic. Hahaha!

Soup is refillable upon request.

So drink to your heart's beauty's content!

The Bijin Nabe (Beauty Pot) setthat comes at 25 per pax.

Minimum order is a 2pax set shown above.

Just from the look of it, you know how healthy the pot is for our bodies with the colourful ingredients, consisting of mainly leafy greens and lean meat!

Tori Tsukuni

Chicken meatbal in a wooden spatula for easy cooking~

Whole shrimps that help to tone up the soup base even further!

Each set also comes with a choice of mochi mochi noodle, rice noodle, or thin egg noodle.

We had mochi mochi noodle since I read somewhere that it is the recommendation choice.

It sure didn't fail my expectation!

The noodles were QQ and springy, like mochi! What an apt name for it smile

The professional helped us with the hotpot.

See how beautiful she made it to be! ^^

Watemelon radish.

So pretty.

Do they have it in supermarkets??

Just one more pic since it's so good to look at smile

4 unique types of spices you should try with the chicken meat.

From the top left (in clockwise direction): Red chili oil, Yuzu pepper, Negi ginger oil, Chili shoyu

We ordered some sides as well.

I forgot what is this called, but apparently this is 'Very famous in Japan!' lol

It turns out to be warm japanese/gluttinous rice wrapped with grilled bacon/pork and cheese or other 3 options you can choose.

Egg pudding (creme brulee)

Tsukada Nojo has a very cute loyalty system that promotes its customers after every 2 or 3 visits!

Since it was the first time for me and Chee, we started out as assistant manager yesterday tongueEach time you get a promotion, Tsukada Nojo will give 'rewards' like free appetizers or side dishes and so on.

Our next level would be the Manager! Hohoho.

And here's the complimentary dessert we got.

Matcha pudding with very cute chocolate art~

Arigato! ^^

Chock Full of Beans OK Sep 16, 2014

Categories : Café

We went back on a separate occasion for CFOB's 3D latte art ♥
More photos of the mains and previous visit here:

Gotten a My Melody latte art work on the iced caramel macchiato smile

The 3D latte art is done mainly on iced coffees because a colder temperature enables the frothed milk (the "foam" that makes the latte artwork) to stay put longer.

Another reason is because iced coffees are usually served with straws. Hence, we get to drink the coffee from the bottom of the cup instead of consuming a whole lot of frothed milk at the top if we were to drink directly from the cup.

Our hazelnut latte came with a kitty 3D art.

Looks a bit like a 招财猫 smile

After drinking the coffee, the frothed milk still remains, and you can see the paws of the kitty by the side of the glass still. haha!

Great value with 1-for-1! OK Apr 09, 2014

Categories : Italian | Pasta

Full review here: http://oyhz.blogspot.sg/2014/03/extra-virgin-pizza-x-entertainer.html
The Extra Virgin Pizza outlet has a warm and casual ambience and the new branch at the United Square is spacious enough for long tables - great for large groups gatherings!
We were told that the pizzas are the mains available for Buy-One-Get-One-Free.
So it was PURE PIZZA night!

All pizzas are hand-made and baked to order at Extra Virgin Pizza. And as the name suggests, Extra Virgin Pizza uses quality and pure extra virgin olive oil, and only globally sourced premium ingredients such as Italian double-zero flour, california organic Saporito tomatoes and premium imported cheeses and toppings.
With more than 10 unique flavours for pizzas, we spent quite a bit of time making our choices!
There were two chef recommendation/favourites ordered - Spotted Pig and Pistachio Pesto.

Spotted Pig Pizza with tomato, mozzarella, pepperoni, pork sausage, applewood smoked bacon, parmigiano reggiano

Pistachio Pesto with pistachio pesto, mozzarella, baby arugula, lemon vinaigrette, pecorino, provolone
While the two recommendations above were delightful, my personal favourites are actually Mushroom Bianco and Seafood Pizza!

Mushroom Bianco with mozzarella, roasted mushrooms and onions, fontina, rosemary, pecorino, truffle oil
This was sooo good even though it's basically just cheese and mushrooms! (okay, with a drizzle of truffle oil)
There wasn't any pizza sauce used, which allows the natural flavour of the mushrooms to ooze out as you bite into the pizza.
Do try this if you're a mushroom lover like me! lol

Seafood with bechamel, prawns, clams, squid, cherry tomatoes, chili flakes, parmigiano reggiano, pecorino, lemon juice, shaved garlic
This came as a surprise favourite for myself as I don't usually take spiciness well. The seafood pizza came with some chili flakes which was considered mild and adds on to the flavour perfectly.
Ingredients used were very fresh. I like especially the squid which was Q and springy!

1-for-1 til 20 Dec 2013 :) OK Nov 18, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Café

I'm sure many (especially KPOP fans) have heard of Full House - Korean drama featuring Rain and Song Hye Gyo, as well as the lovely theme cafe “Fullhouse Lifestyle Store and Cafe” previously located at Hotel Rendezvous.
Unfortunately, the latter has closed down.
But...FRET NOT! Fullhouse is now re-opened in Singapore at Clarke Quay with new management and the cafe focuses on its signature dishes more than before, hence, Fullhouse Signature <3

Now, here's the sweet deal for everyone! Fullhouse Signature is offering 1-FOR-1 main course, from today til 10 December 2013! smile
Simply scan the QR code or flash the coupon below before ordering.

Without much further ado, let's take a look at the lovely theme restaurant. The management team has spent months sourcing for suitable decor and even having them custom-made overseas for the restaurant to ensure that every corner is perfect!

Crunchy Cheese Sticks $11

Deep fried cheese sticks coated with crispy breadcrumbs

This was one of my favourite dish out of so many even though it's simply mozzarella cheese coated with bread crumbs, I find the taste so divine~~ T.T

Fullhouse Ravioli $25

Special creamy ravioli stuffed with minced prawns, squids and spinach

The presentation of the ravioli once again surprised us smile Having an aesthetically-pleasing dish already makes customers 50% satisfied.
However, having tried authentic yummy ravioli in Italy personally, this dish was a little far from expectations.
The pasta itself could been a little thinner, either that or more of the fillings (and more cream please, yes!).
Perhaps each petal of ravioli could be made smaller, more bite-sized, for ladies to have an easier time to enjoy the food smile

Scallop Aglio Spagehetti $22
Smooth virgin olive oil with a touch of chili padi and garlic served with sauteed whole scallops

Molten Chocolate Cake $9

Chocolate cake filled with lava like smooth cocoa

We were slightly disappointed when there weren't any chocolate lava oozing out as described by the title of the dish :/

But right upon trying the cake, all my disappointments were gone!
The (not-so-molten) chocolate in the cake were nonetheless soft and slightly chewy, making the dessert so satisfying.
The strawberries were surprisingly sweet (not the usual sour ones we have) too!

Snow White on Fire
One of their signature cocktail, with a presentation style similar to flaming lamborgini, Snow White on Fire.

The cocktail has citrus, honey and (plum) many other ingredient in it which makes it not only exciting to watch, but super delicious too! To me, it tasted like refreshing honey plum and I had to control myself not to have too much of it! :X Otherwise I'd be drunk pretty soon!

As mentioned, Fullhouse Signature is offering 1-FOR-1 main course, from today til 10 December 2013! smile

The restaurant sits above Jurong Birdpark, right on the top of the hill as the name suggests.

Overlooking the entire jurong area smile Very pretty at night!

Atmosphere feels a lil' old/run-down. Food looks so-so, but taste fine. The Teriyaki beef ramen is a MUST-HAVE! The soup is so sweet and fragrant, beef just to the right tenderness. The ramen itself is very unique too, has the smooth eggy taste to it smile
