I tried the Tea Frostyz but it has nothing very special about the drink, just that it's ice-blended. A cup costs $3.80, if you would like to add whipped cream, it costs $4.20. 40 cents for whipped cream! I tried the one without whipped cream. The blended ice melted pretty fast, so it kind of turned out to be just teh-bing (iced milk tea). Imagine paying $3.80 for a cup of iced blended milk tea. I would not really recommend it as it's equivalent to ordering a cup of iced milk tea.

Bad service and dirty cutlery Cry Jan 01, 2013

After new year countdown, I went with a few of my friends to this Swensen's outlet for a chilling session and supper. We were there around 2.00am and it was pretty crowded. We waited for 15 minutes for our seats. After my friends and I took turn to make our orders, the waiter repeated our orders but he did not note down what my friend had ordered. So, we had to tell him again. The food were pretty delicious I must say, but another thing bad was that the cutlery weren't clean. But we did not want to make a fuss so we cleaned it using the serviettes provided for us. Most of the food came and we had finished them but one of my friends order wasn't serve yet. So we waited for a while more but it seemed that the waiter had forgotten to record down the order again. Few of my friends were pretty furious and wanted the service charge to be waived off, but we didn't made the request in the end.

Difficult to get seats Cry Dec 28, 2012

Categories : American | Fast Food | Halal

I will not comment much on the food as the chickens and burgers from KFC in Singapore taste about the same. I will comment more on the availability of seats and crowds there. On Friday nights or Weekends, there will be quite a lot of people having their dinner there. It will be pretty difficult to find seats during this peak hour. One reason is because there aren't many seats available in this outlets, probably around 30 seats. This outlet is also quite small compared to other outlets, hence the crowd. If you wish to have dinner there, try to be there early if not you might have to takeaway or have dinner at some other restaurants or food courts.

Delicious sushi OK Dec 29, 2012

Had my dinner over at this Sushi Tei outlet at east coast park. There are not many people there when I arrived at 6pm. My partner and I had some sushis. We only took 3 plates of nigiri sushi, 2 plates of gunkan sushi (i couldn't remember the names) and ordered soft shell crab sushi with chicken floss and agedashi tofu. This in total costs us close to $50. The environment there was very nice and a god place to chill and enjoy the delicious sushi. Would recommend this place if you want to avoid large crowd during dinner peak hours. =)

Some dishes nice, some so-so OK Dec 29, 2012

My first visit to Gurney Drive. The food there was still not too bad but just slightly too pricy. My partner and I ordered several dishes to try. We ordered Penang Assam Laksa, Penang Fried Kuay Teow, Penang Lor Bak, Penang Cendol and Penang Rojak. I'll describe each of them one by one.

Penang Assam Laksa ($5.90):
Both my partner and I don't really like the taste. It seems like they have added in peppermint taste to the assam paste or it's just the taste of assam. Besides, the noodles they used were kind of like 'Mee Tai Bak' or we call it 'Lao Shu Fen' in Chinese. 1 out of 5.

Penang Fried Kuay Teow ($7.50):
This fried kuay teow's taste was pretty fantastic. I can finish up two servings of it if my pocket allows. The only bad thing about it is that the price is close to triple of that you can purchase in a kopitiam. 4 out of 5.

Penang Lor Bak ($4.50):
Very very nice! Especially the Ghor Hiong. However, the serving was really small. Worth the try but just order one serving is sufficient for you to taste. not worth to order too many servings. 4 out of 5.

Penang Rojak ($4.50):
I like the tao pok! very crispy and they also added in fruits like pineapple, green apple (I think) and some other crunchy fruit-like stuffs. However, they only put like 4 small pieces of tau pok, and many other fruits. For me, I prefer to have more tau pok and you tiao. So this dish isn't that appealing to me. Taste wise still not too bad. 3 out of 5.

Penang Cendol ($3.50):
Nice taste. Just tastes slightly different from the usual Chendol that you can find in the food court. I guess that's what makes it nice. Not too sweet and the brown sugar syrup was very fragrant. 4 out of 5.
