Yummy???? Cry May 04, 2013

The bibimbap is priced at $13.80++ and you get to choose the meat topping for the stone pot rice with shredded vegetables and egg. Choose from beef, belly pork, spicy chicken or octopus. It is served along with 6 small saucers of side dishes viz 3 types of kîmchi, tofu, potato saład andikan bills. I had expected strips of beef bulgogi in my bibimbap but omg Seoul Yummy gave me tasteless minced beef. If doing a blind taste test nobody would know he is eating beef bibimbap. They were generous with the rice but alas stingy with the toppings. The side dishes were substandard for a restaurnt. The ikan bills were rock hard and clumped together, not crispy and tasted stale. Next time I should have my bibimbap at the food court instead of Seoul Yummy at less than half the price!

Pineapple Shortcake Smile May 04, 2013
Categories : Taiwanese | Bakery | Hotel | Desserts and Cakes

It was lovely to find warm Taiwanese hospitality at this store with friendly service, generous full sized samples and best of all no hard sell or softsell tactics to pressure passerby to buy their wares. The crust was buttery and crumbly, and the shortcake was cramped full with moist flavorful pineapple filling. This is real pineapple filling - juicy, tangy and full of bite not the usual saccharine pineapple jam or pure that has no mouth feel at all. Not cheap at $25 for a box of 10pcs, but you are paying for authenticity and quality here not fancy packaging. The cakes are individually packed in grease proof paper and presented in no

Frills Eco friendly brown box. Thumbs up.

Pandan Chiffon OK May 04, 2013

The box was big but the standard sized $6.80 chiffon cake was tiny. If cut into 6 pcs each is too small so the cake is best served quartered. Unlike the rude saleswoman at their Novena Square Two outlet who refused to cut up our cake and demanded 50cents for a plastic knife, the friendly lady at this branch packed a plastic knife with our cake. Taste wise the cake was moist, light and fluffy but the pandanus taste was very weak

Spicy Ramen OK May 04, 2013

Categories : Japanese | Food Court | Ramen

The spicy also ramen at $7.90 comes in a big bowl to satisfy hungry stomachs. Here you do not get to customize your preferred level of spiciness. The noodles were nice and springy, submerged by a medium spicy broth. It was served with crunchy bean sprouts, shredded kelp, spicy minced pork, garlic chips and half a braised egg. Reasonable value for a posh place like MBS Shoppes.

Yummy Gyoza Smile May 04, 2013
Categories : Japanese

Visit Raffles City B1 for your Gyoza fix as Osaka Ohsho certainly lives up to its Gyoka King reputation of serving the most delicious and most economical Gyoza - only $7.80 per dozen. Here the Gyoza are handmade daily and they have the thinnest pastry skin you'll ever find locally. Th Gyoza are fried till crispy brown on one side while the ample filling inside remains juicy. Despite the wallet friendly price the restaurant does not stint on quality - filling the Gyoza with minced premium pork neck, finely chopped cabbage which adds sweetness and moisture and finely minced garlic and ginger for added flavor. Superb!
