Fuss-free subs Smile Dec 21, 2012

I wondered how different/similar Quiznos would be to Subway. The way of ordering is similar, and the way the staff assembles your order is also similar. I chose the Turkey sub (seems healthier) and the Parmesan cheese bread.

The ingredients were fresh and the portions generous. However, I didn't really taste the cheese in the bread although it was still soft and nice. I would like to try the brown bread on my next visit as it seemed like the other diners enjoyed eating their brown bread sub.

Not just Indian cuisine Smile Dec 18, 2012

The nearest MRT station is Farrer Park, and not Little India, as many mistakenly think and which the staff told us wrongly. Jade of India has an extensive menu and the more adventurous diners should venture beyond the usual fish head curry.

The fried rice we had was good, with lots of wok hei smile the fish chilly wine had a tangy taste and not spicy. However, the skin of the chicken momos were too thick and there was too little filling. Not bad overall.

Fusion cuisine OK Dec 18, 2012

The resturant is nestled among the row of eateries near the Little India station, very conveniently located for those who take the MRT.

We tried a staple, the Noodles and Rice combination, and an appetiser, the Fried Fish. From the dishes, it appears that the cook has good control of the fite. The rice and noodles had good 'wok hei' (fire breath) and the fried fish was not oily. For the prices, however, the portions were rather small.

Nasi Padang at restaurant prices OK Dec 18, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Malay | Restaurant | Seafood | Kids-Friendly

The restaurant was airy and spacious, with a good view of Orchard road if you sit near the full length windows. The way of ordering is like regular nasi padang, you point to the dishes you want, and because it's a restaurant, they will serve it to you at your table.

We ordered 3 dishes to share and the Ayam Goreng Garuda was the most unique, but very oily. The rest like the fish curry and the Pergedil Daging Sapi (Potato Croquette with Minced Beef) were rather ordinary.

I guess if you have overseas friends in town and you want to impress them in an air-conditioned environment, this would be an ideal choice. But at the steep prices, I would patronise the stalls run by the mak ciks

Ahoy, Captain! Smile Dec 18, 2012

The Ship first got my interest when it was featured in the news. In the report, a lot of its regular diners expressed dismay that the outlet at Orchard would have to be closed as many of them had had wonderful dining experiences there in the past.

This is my first visit and oh boy, I wonder why I had never heard about this wonderful restaurant before. That day, I tasted delicious food in a beautiful environment and paid very reasonable prices for a wonderful dining experience.

The restaurant is well-decorated, in line with its 'ship' theme. Try to get a seat at the corners if you can. Some diners might find the place a bit dimly lit, but after ordering, there really isn't a whole lot of need to read, so that was fine with me.

I ordered the fish and chips set, which came with a warm bun, soup, a drink AND ice-cream dessert. Everything was good and a lot of attention was paid to the details. For example, the bun was served warm, with butter AND a butter knife! The ice-cream was served in a quaint dessert cup and a slice of lemon added to my ice lemon tea. I really appreciate such attention to details and the high standards observed. All the food and drinks on the menu are very affordable and it really makes me wonder how the restaurant makes money.

No wonder its regular diners were sad to see the original outlet close down.
