Dinner at Jurong Point Smile May 22, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Porridge/Congee

Wanna eat some non-fried food for dinner due to sore throat. A1 Claypot house is the right choice at Jurong Point. It is considered quite new in Jurong Point. Environment wise it is considered alright. However, the waiter and waitress are quite slow in attending to customer requests. Perhaps due to the crowd in the restaurant. Hmm.. Can improve on! :0

We ordered rice with sesame chicken. It was piping hot and the sauce was a little too salty after eating. Chicken was tender and fresh, they gave us the chicken wings parts smile

Fish with shredded scallop porridge. The fish slices and scallops are of reasonable portion.

Pre-orderec Chantilly over the phone for Mother's Day.
Fruit cake! smile

When I went over to collect the cake on the morning of Mother's Day, there was some delay in the payment. Cause the cashier was not sure of which card is entitled to discount. There are Passion card, Safra card and others. The poster of the cards entitled for discount was paste at the entrance instead of at the cashier area. I guess they need to change it so as the cashier area so as to facilitate payment. Eventually, I gave them my Passion card and there was a 15% discount.

The fruits were fresh and cream was just nice. It is a 1 kg cake to be shared among 10 of my family members. There were fruit chunks in between the layer of cakes. All of us like the cake very much. smile

Nyonya Food for Dinner Smile May 16, 2013

Shopping around Vivocity and saw a new Nyonya restaurant... smile
Spicy food, wow, I like! lol

They were quite fast in their service. After the appetizers, they soon served our drinks and then the Assam Curry fish head was ready. The waiter then use traditional basket with pandan leaves and scoop rice for us. Thoughtful of the waiter to add more rice for my boyfriend. bowl

The fish head is like their signature dish of the restaurant. I looked around at all the diners in the restaurant, all of them ordered this particular dish. Worth giving it a try. The assam curry was a little too spicy for me and my boyfriend. But, to all other hardcore chilli lovers, it tastes superb.

The appetizers the restaurant staffs served us were a small tray of prawn crackers and ah jak (mixed cucumber, carrots with chilli sauce, served cold).

The front cover of the menu. Think that it is rather special. Snap a picture of it. smile

Ordered chinese tea for myself. Proved that it relieves the spiciness better than grass jelly. Haha!

Grass jelly drink for boyfriend.

The fish head was rather small. Lucky it was for 2 of us only. Within it, there are brinjal, long beans, tau pok. smile

I enjoyed the food there, this restaurant can be considered one of the authentic nyonya food in Singapore. Will be back here again to try their chay chye, ngoh hiang, desserts, nyonya kuehs and so many more... tongue

Soup for dinner in heaty weather Smile May 14, 2013

Lotus roots with peanut soup and pork ribs. I always orderd this soup when I visit Lao Huo Tang. smile Pumpkin rice.

Pumpkin rice and lao huang gua tang. The pumpkin rice has small chunks of pumkin within it. Tastes better than the normal rice.

Fried tofu with chilli sauce. Served hot and the interior of the tofu is soft and fresh.

The turnover of the cafe is rather fast. The cafe is suitable for a casual dinner. It was rather noisy. But the taste of the food makes up for it.

Japanese food ;) Smile May 14, 2013

Categories : Japanese | Noodles

Stuck at Bishan Mrt for quite some time before we decided to head up to Junction 8 for dinner. I have craving for Japanese food and saw a new Japanese restaurant and tried it out.

The ambience was rather noisy and was packed full of people on a weekend night. Looks like they served good food, espectially udon, what they were famous for.

Ordered Pork Sukiyaki Gozen set. The soup base was nice to my liking.

Also ordered Zaru Udon and Soba mix with Fried Prawn Tempura set meal
Zaru Udon was indeed better than Soba. It is served cold and to be dipped into the speciality Japanese sauce before eating it.
