Double Lime Sundae Smile Dec 11, 2011

While passing by McDonald, saw this interesting new flavour. Double Lime Sundae! Decided to buy one and try it. To my surprise, it wasn't very sour as I expected. It was kind of sweet and I like it a lot. Cooling and refreshing. What's more, they have even added Nata De Coco inside. The Nata De Coco was green in colour. Looks slimy.

Big Feast at Soup Restaurant Smile Dec 11, 2011

Categories : Singaporean Chinese | Chinese Soup

My friend and I were at the Expo for a meeting and decided to settle our dinner at Changi Airport since we were in the vicinity. As both of us were living at the West area, it's quite a rare chance that we can visit the Airport in the East. She suggested Soup Restaurant and I agreed. It was also the first restaurant we spotted at the Viewing Mall North - Terminal 2.
Chrysanthemum Tea

Chrysanthemum Tea

For our drinks, we ordered their Chrysanthemum tea (S$3.60 for two glasses) which were being refilled promptly each time it was near empty. There Chrysanthemum tea really can quench our thirst and one can even spot the real Chrysanthemum flower inside.

Honetown Tofu and Soup of the Day

Honetown Tofu and Soup of the Day

We ordered their most popular Samsui Ginger Chicken (S$15.90), Hometown Tofu (S$8.90) and their new dish called Poached baby Spinach with Canpoy in century & Salted Egg stock (S$12.90) and a soup of the day (S$5.90).

Their Samsui Ginger Chicken is as usual delicious. Eat it with ginger only or wrapped it with the lettuce and cucumber and dipped it in the ginger sauce. Their taste of their hometown tofu lingers in my mouth for a long time too. Spinach is a healthy choice. Overall, we had a cozy dinner and it feels like an elaborated home-cooked meal.

To step into Dian Xiao Er makes me feel like I'm one of the ancient Chinese travellers, stopping by at a traditional Chinese inn for some food and wine. Yes, Dian Xiao Er creates this rustic and raw ambiance with its furniture mainly made from wood and bricks.

Even their menu is like a martial arts manual in the past.

This environment complements the freshness of their herbal roast duck which are prepared and roasted in the display kitchen daily.

Duck Roasted w Ten Wonder Herbs

Duck Roasted w Ten Wonder Herbs

Ordered their Duck Roasted with Ten Wonder Herbs. The ten herbs comprises of Incl Codonopsis Root, Foxglove Root, Licorice Root, etc. It is said from their menu that this dish can relieves mental stress and promotes longevity and people who are prone to nervousness will benefit from its calming effect. I love this dish as it is marinated in a combination of herbs and spices for hours and roasted for the right timing that the skin is golden brown and crispy while the flesh remains tender and bursting with juicy herbal goodness.
Duck with Kai-Lan

Duck with Kai-Lan

Their baby Kai Lan is stir fried with a dash of lime juice which gives the dish a tangy and refreshing flavour. It's almost like eating Thai Food.

For me, just this two dishes is enough to make a satisfying meal. Thumbs up! lol

My dessert house is a cozy place that lured my companions and I to step in for some desserts. Bright wall colour with neatly arranged tables and chairs and the giant framed up photos of their desserts make us feel comfortably at home. They have a wide range of dessert. Whether you want it hot or cold, they've got it. The four of us ordered different items so that we got to try different desserts at one go.
Hot Red bean Soup

Hot Red bean Soup

Hot red bean soup to boost red blood cells good for the ladies with monthly period. It's different from the hawker red bean soup as it comes with sago and ginko nuts. Really nutritious.
Mango Pomelo

Mango Pomelo

I don't really like their Mango Pomelo. The mango is abit sour and pomelo bitter.
Mango Sweetheart

Mango Sweetheart

Mango Sweetheart is made up of fruity ice jelly topped with mango, strawberry, kiwi, peach, longan and lime. It taste sour too. It goes to shows that they really use fresh fruit (without soaking in sugar syrup) to make their dessert.
National Treasure

National Treasure

I love my National treasure! No wonder it's labelled as the Best seller. It's silky and smooth beancurd topped with red tea jelly, nata de coconut, longan and strawberry! I'm in love with this sweet dessert!
Chocolate Milo Waffle

Chocolate Milo Waffle

Chocolate Milo Waffle. The waffle hot, but it's not crispy and taste abit blend. With chocolate ice-cream and milo powder. The concept is like milo dinosaurs.
Chicken Spaghetti

Chicken Spaghetti

Not only do they served dessert, they also have some main course. Tried their chicken spaghetti with Juicy tomato sauce. Not bad.

Overall, spent $27.50 here for the desserts and spaghetti. Worth trying.

Love the Pretzel Knots Smile Nov 12, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : American

Serves as a fun snack or appetizer. I happened to grab the last piece of this Pizza Knot Cheese and it's only 2 pm in the afternoon. This shows how popular this item is. The tangy pizza sauce and shredded cheese makes this soft pretzel knot super yummy. Love the taste and convenient of eating this while window shopping. Save the time of sitting down and eating a whole pizza.
