wanton mee Smile Jan 28, 2013

I love the wanton mee here. Whenever I am in this hawker centre, I will order this. Each plate costs $2.50. The noodles is really good. It is only cooked upon order and the owner grasped the cooking time very well. It is tangy and qq and it does not have any alkaline aftertaste. It went really well with the black sauce that is concocted by the stall owner. The ingredients are just so-so, normal tasting. The noodles are definitely the star for me.

White Dog Cafe OK Jan 28, 2013

We didn't know which is the good item to order, so we decided to get their platter since this will give us chance to try out more of their different dishes in a single dish. The platter includes wedges, calamari, prawn tempura and springrolls. We got the buffalo wings as well. Overall, we found it to be quite delicious especially for the buffalo wings which have a very characteristic taste to them which I found it to be addictive. Fried food must be eaten hot and it is served hot to us, which retains its freshness and crispyness. However, it is slightly too expensive so we may stick to ordering the dish direct next time since we know which is good.

delicious ang ku kuehs Smile Jan 27, 2013

During the weekends, sometimes when I am free, I will go down to Poh Cheu for their homemade kuehs. Their ang ku kuehs are what keeps me going back again and again. They have a lot of different flavours like green tea, durian, black sesame, yam, mango etc etc. My favourite is the green tea ang ku kueh. The ang ku kueh skin is chewy and soft and the green tea filling is very smooth and not too sweet. It is a popular snack for everyone in my family. The fact that only two lonely ones are left within one hour of bringing it back home is proof of how popular it is in my family. The ang ku kuehs are priced at 70cents each, and be prepared to wait a bit as there is always a queue.

cheese maru Smile Jan 27, 2013

I was on my way back from meeting my client and decided to grab something to eat from NEX. Jollibean is the natural choice as its pancakes are quite alright in terms of size and is enough to satisfy me. I got the cheese maru pancake. The pancake still feels slightly warm and the pancake is still a little soft. The cheese filling is quite substantial and evenly spread throughout the pancake such that I get to taste the cheese filling in every bite that I take. The pancake batter is not too thick too, making the taste just right.

crystal jade Smile Jan 26, 2013

I love the BBQ pork bo lo buns from cystal jade as it reminds me of those bo lo buns that I had in Hong Kong. Of course the taste can't compare to those I had in hong kong, but it is good enough. The bun is sweet on the outside with the crispy exterior and it is soft on the inside, where your tastebuds will be in for a treat from the delicious and juicy char siew meat. It tastes best on the day of purchase. Besides the bun, I also got the two glutinous pancakes for my mum who loves them. The pancakes are good too, with many other different flavours besides green tea custard and red bean.
