Lovely little French restaurant Smile Apr 18, 2013

Finally! A place with good French food in central location! The interior of the restaurant is pretty dim, so no chance of you reading a book while waiting for your date! But the ambiance here is a very relaxing one. I had the Lobster Bisque and would have preferred some lobster meat in it. Perhaps I’m just not used to having it with the mini prawns which accompanied the dish. The Duck Confit was perfect; the skin was crisp and the meat was moist and tender. This is just the place to enjoy romantic meal.

Different fare, yummy udon Smile Apr 18, 2013

Went there to celebrate a friend’s birthday. I found the menu slightly different from the other mid-price ranged Japanese restaurants in Singapore. For one, I got to try this miso marinated fish which was being grilled on a special leaf…it was FANTASTIC! The taste was so unami and the flavour of the miso was strong. The udon portions are big and truly hit the spot especially if you’re hungry! Their dry cold soba was a hit with the group too!

Authentic Tom Yam soup! Smile Apr 17, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Thai | Halal

My favourite Thai dish has to be Tom Yam seafood noodle soup and over here, you get to choose between the cloudy and clear soup versions! I've been here previously before and learnt that they don't make it the usual spicy-ness if you don't request for it, in fear that you might find it too hot, so I was fairly disappointed the first time. However, lesson learnt and I made sure I asked for spicy this time around. And it was good. smile

You MUST try their bread roll!  Smile Apr 17, 2013

If you're looking to have a good rest from all the shopping in Orchard Road, I would suggest you dine here. Tucked away on the 4th floor of Takashimaya shopping centre is a seemingly incongruous restaurant with a plain white exterior. The interior is fairly sparse as well but do try the steak! I had the Sirlion steak which comes with soup, bread roll, salad and dessert. I love the steak here because they always do it well and to the degree of done-ness that you want. But the other thing that gets me raving is their bread roll. It's just FANTASTIC! Toasty on the outside, with the soft, slightly chewy white on the inside, I always wish I could have more! (That said, I've never tried asking, maybe next time). It's baked fresh daily so you know you're never having stale store bought stuff. One small complaint is that I feel the salad could have a bit more variety of vegetables; it consisted mainly of corn, lettuce and shreds of carrot. Some onions, rocket leaves, spinach leaves or even beetroot would jazz the salad up!

Always choose Coco Exotic! Smile Apr 17, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Bakery

Have you heard of the cake Coco Exotic? If you haven't, then you've been living under a rock all these years! This cake at Four Leaves is absolutely scrumptious and my go-to cake whenever I can't decide what flavour to choose! It's a chocolate cake with a layer of hazelnut praline at the base and the taste is of chocolatey goodness! You will not regret it! If you're not a fan of chocolate, their other cakes are nice too and are not run off the mill.
