Fish Sandwich Smile Nov 10, 2013
Categories : American | Fast Food | Halal

Many people go to Popeyes ordering chicken meals, hence I had decided to order something different, Fish Sandwich.

Surprising, the Fish Sandwich tasted very good. The cereal coated buns were soft. There was fresh crispy lettuce which gave the fried fish patty a refreshing taste.

The fish patty was good too, with crispy battered skin and real juicy real fish meat inside.

Kou Ruo Bao Smile Nov 10, 2013

Categories : Malay | Singaporean | Chinese

Fragrance currently selling frozen Kou Rou Bao at about $11. This set included braised pork and 10 white buns.

The Kou Rou Bao can be reheated using microwave or steamer.

The braised pork was very fragrant, it was deeply braised. The pork meat was quite fatty. The meat actually so braised and soft, it almost melted in your mouth. There was very herbal and sweet dark soya sauce taste in the gravy and in the meat.

Donuts Smile Nov 10, 2013

Categories : American | Bakery

There was a coupon deal recently and it cost $6.40 for half a dozen of donuts.

I had chosen mostly jam filled donuts.

There was a particular donut worth to mention and that was strawberry jam donut.

The strawberry jam donut had generous amount of strawberry jam.

The donut dough tasted well fried with no rancid taste. The donut was not as soft as other brand but the rough texture gave it a different chew in mouth.

There was many real strawberry fruit inside the jam. The jam tasted mild sweet and sour. It went well together with the fried donut.

Mango Mousse Cake Smile Dec 26, 2014

I had bought a Mango Mousse Cake from Jack's Place bakery counter to celebrate Christmas. I know I should have bought a log cake but I did not order in advance and it was all soldout. This Mango Mousse Cake cost $42 for 1kg size.

The Mango Mousse Cake tasted very good. The cake was fresh, moist and fluffy. The mousse testure was similar to the cake texture, I was not able to differentiate between the sponge cake or the mousse. The mango used was fresh, creamy and sweet, it tasted good.

Overall, thought the cake was slightly pricey, I think I had made the right choice of buying a Mango Mousse Cake than a Chocolate log cake. The fruit cake tasted delicious and more healthy than chocolate swiss roll.

Spending per head: Approximately $42

Mini Peanut Puff Smile Dec 26, 2014

Categories : Peranakan / Nonya | Bakery | Desserts and Cakes

Today was only Christmas Day and Bengawan Solo already started selling Chinese New Year pastry!

The staff recommended the Mini Peanut Puff which was freshly delivered from their main bakery today. Hence I bought a box of Mini Peanut Puff at $13.80. I felt the price was slightly expensive.

The Mini Peanut Puff tasted good and fresh. The size of the Peanut Puff made eating easy, just pop into mouth like eating M&M. There was no oily after-taste or aroma. The puff was very crispy. The filling inside was crushed peanut with sugar which had just the right sweetness.

Spending per head: Approximately $13.80(Tea)
